schluurrrrrppppppppppppp does not instill confidence.

Here is a question for you, if I have extremely heavy periods would the cup..ahem over flow?

Spidermama · 05/03/2007 23:55

F&Z why did I have such a strong incling this would be your thread.

As the MN Mooncup rep, can you advise me on something? You know I had my ahem ahem surgery? Well as a result my old mooncup, the larger size for the well stretched fanjo, no longer seems to fit. It leaks like it never used to. Do you think it would be worth my trying the smaller one?

FrannyandZooey · 06/03/2007 08:42

Nemo in theory the cup could overflow, yes

you would need to change it frequently I would imagine

it does hold a fair bit (I am guessing now, but I would think a fair bit more than a big tampon?)

Spidey are you here showing off your swanky new fanjolele again? I think it would definitely be worth a go I think, but maybe an expensive trial? Try ringing the Mooncup people yourself, they must have heard it all before...

I love my Mooncup. Thank you Franny! I am afraid I have taken to trying to convert people after a few glasses of wine, usually when out for a meal . They are fab though.

Recently bought myself a mooncup as I like the idea. However, despite buying the smaller size (yes I have delivered vaginally!) I find it horrible getting it in and out, although fine while in position! Any advice?

FrannyandZooey · 16/03/2007 18:12

q7, I personally find it can be uncomfortable or even painful to remove it if I am being careless - the advice I have been given is to make sure you break the seal before starting to pull it out.

Do you generally find it difficult to be fiddled about with in that area? Not trying to be funny, just I know some people get extremely tense during smear tests, tampon use etc. I am wondering if it is a problem with the Mooncup itself, your technique, or whether you need to relax more in some way?

hi i have never heard of these mooncups but am intrigues and interested in giving it a go! do they give you good instrucitions in finding the correct position, i sometimes strugle with tampons that get themselves into very awkward positins and wondered if mooncups do the same ie moe about!

FrannyandZooey · 22/03/2007 07:50

Personally I have found them fairly easy to use, and not hard to get the hang of. You don't need to insert them very high up so I think it is unlikely they could get "lost" in the way that tampons can.

Here are the instructions they give online}, so you can see whether you think it would work for you.
