Is it normal for my 10 month old to have so many runny nappies? FRANK DISCUSSION OF POO CONTAINED WITHIN, honestly I wouldn't read unless I had a small baby

She has always had runny poos, but she did have a tummy upset a couple of weeks ago when they were extremely watery. Since last Tuesday she has had fairly normal poos, but yesterday and today they are again HUGE and liquid. She seems fine in herself.

oh yes, I read that somewhere (something to do with boys having it I think)

think it's fine for a little bit

considering one of mine had soy and the other had hypoallergenic (practically made from some awful oil), they seem to have turned out ok

at the picture of your dd at breakfast!! Pleased to hear that she seems to be a bit better.

Just to warn you that ds had about 3 bouts of his gastro thing, but each one was shorter than the last and less severe. Hope your dd doesn't come down with it again, but I guess she might...

i am maniacally washing her and my hands

When my son had bad nappies the doctor called it Toddler diarrhoea he thought it could be from suddenly putting everything in their mouths and getting more germs?! ... has she got more mobile recently and putting stuff in her mouth....
I think son did have a stool test taken..

yes

I have a nigglign fear she has poisoned herself by eating polly pockets shoes or something

I do try to keep stuff out of her reach..she loves to suck the horrible rubber doorstop in the kitchen though

I am quite sure DS got his original poo problem from licking pigeon poo from his pushchair wheels (did not see it on there before he licked I hasten to add). He loves to lick wheels, I have to wrap them all in plastic bags when we come in the house now. Also caught him licking the dustbin, and the loo.

I'm trying to train dh to put the toilet lid down for exactly that reason! Unfortunately, ds is fascinated by shoes and occasionally manages to get one into his mouth before I notice what's going on. Yeuch!

yes I caught her having a good go on the crepe soles of my boden (if you please) boots last week

god she has probably ingested shit or somesuch

Must be strengthening their immune systems though, surely... DS also has a thing about shoes too, especially if they are a bit grubby. How are the poos now?

sockmonkey · 28/02/2007 08:32

Can i just ask could your LO be teething? Mine both had really runny poos for a week or two before a tooth came through.
It's just a thought.

Enid · 28/02/2007 10:08
