So after a mmc in August at 12 ish weeks I have had a lot of random health niggles and various Dr's appointments (at one point they even mentioned lymphoma) but I still have no idea what is wrong with me so feel free to comment as any ideas are welcome as I cannot remember the last time I didn't have some sort of pain and I feel like a rubbish mum to ds and we also want to ttc ASAP but I don't feel like it would be sensible at the moment until I feel better able to cope my symptoms are as follows:
Pain in my shoulder all the time this sometimes is accompanied by numbness in my arm and hand and pins and needles especially in the middle of the night.
Since December I have had pain in my lower back that radiates down my left bum cheek and leg sometimes as far down as my ankle which had been know to wake me up sometimes it is worse than others last week was fine this week it has woken me up at 4 am every morning.
I have had bloods done for thyroid, liver function and fb all fine, I have had a scan on my gall bladder all fine, periods are just getting back to normal after mc and I have ibs and have had for years so tummy sometimes sore but I have had this for years. My Gp says he thinks it is muscular and at first just gave me something for the pain and has now requested physio but I am not convinced as it has been going on so long. I am totally fed up that I am only 34 and my body has turned against me, plus it wasn't helped yesterday when a lovely colleague said that they knew someone with back ache like mine and they were dead within a few months cos it was cancer Confused

Maybe you just need a new mattress. Can be the cause of many aches and pains if your mattress isn't supporting your body as it should.

Thanks gamer, the mattress we have is only a couple of years old but it isn't great ds broke his bed when we were getting it so some of the money we had for a mattress went on that so we didn't get the one we wanted, I might see about a new one it has to be worth a go x x

Many pains can come from an unsuitable mattress, we spend a large part of life in bed it makes sense to get a decent one that supports properly. My mega crippling backache cleared up when I changed mine it so it stuck in my head when you mentioned waking up with pain or its waking you up a few times I remembered.

I really hope it's something as simple as that to sort out, those tests don't sound pleasant.

I can sympathise with you. I've had a lot of bizarre symptoms over the past 15 months and still have no answers. Pain, pins and needles in arms and legs, abdominal pain, frequent UTIs. I already had IBS. The trouble is you don't know if it's all connected or not and I've found it's a bit of a waiting game to rule out one thing or another, whilst new symptoms emerge, giving a better indication. From my shoulders, arms and hands hurting this time last year, my shoulder now won't move fully. I'm thinking it's either RA or polymyalgia at the moment, but have some more blood tests and a shoulder xray booked for next week. I thought I had got closer to a diagnosis when I went for a routine eye test last summer and was found to have swollen optical discs (no problems noticed with my eyes). They sent me straight to hospital for a CT of head and lumbar puncture and diagnosed a thing called IHH (too much spinal fluid compressing brain). But neurologist doesn't think it would affect my limbs so beginning to think it's a symptom rather than the cause. It's a frustrating long haul! Sorry for huge post, I think you've just got to keep going back until you do find the answers. But it could be as simple as shoulder bursitis, sciatica and IBS. If it's any help I find my IBS bloating goes down with a wheat/gluten free diet. My sympathies though, it's awful feeling ill for monthsvon end.

Are you sure your ibs isn't undiagnosed coeliac disease? Lots of people have negative antibody tests. You need a biopsy and or genetic tests to rule it out. Low iron can also be low ferritin not usually tested for.
The arm pains / tingling could be caused by heart problems. A friend of mine was fobbed off by her GP for months with similar symptoms before having a heart attack aged 40. Slim, fit not high risk. Her heart attack initially felt like bad indigestion. Hopefully not that but it was the last thing she thought it would be.

Five years ago I was in a similar situation lozwil; couldn't walk further than a couple of hundred yards without having to stop and wait for the pain to go before resuming walking again.

I also had back pain, hip pain, and sleepless nights with pain similar to yours from lower back down the right leg to my ankle
Doctors couldn't find anything wrong other than I'm flat footed.

I spent a small fortune on new bed, mattress toppers, expensive footwear, insoles.....

Then I read an article about nightshade foods and decided to give it a go.
I stopped eating potatoes, tomatoes, peppers and aubergines and within ten days I was sleeping through the night with no pain.

Now I am almost pain free except for the odd occasion when I give in to blueberries and feel the effects the next day - but really minor compared to what I was like five years ago.
Best of all, I can walk miles again with my family instead of them having to hang around and wait for me every few hundred yards.
So embarrassing to keep saying "no, you carry on, I'll catch you up"....

Google "nightshade foods".
It has to be worth a try and doesn't involve buying or taking anything dubious. Just cutting out a few everyday foods.
I do hope you find an answer and get it sorted soon.

Thank you everyone lots to think about, thankfully it isn't my heart it was the first thing to get checked out, tbh I have thought it could be either ra or celiac(sp?) As I know both can cause joint pain and generally feeling rubbish and ra runs in my family. The only other thought I had was endo as I have been on the pill since I was young and only had 10 mnts off when I had my son and came of it in Nov 14 to ttc and haven't taken it since apart from a couple of weeks after my mmc and o know that can cause similar problems I just want to feel better it is reassuring to know I am not the only one waiting but I wouldn't wish this on anyone and I am desperate to ttc but sacred to 2 x x

I have been back to Dr again and have been referred to urology as blood in urine has been there for 3 months hopefully we will get to the bottom of what is wrong as the pain seems to have settled in my left lower back and moves around the front of my hip and down into my groin she said it's a nuisance but probably not life threatening which is good I think x x x
