What have I done to my foot- very painful (picture)

I tripped over thin air after having pins and needles...landed on the side of my foot and now it's swollen up like a golf ball on the side. What have I done to it? Anything I can do to help it heal? I've got a 40 minute walk to school in the morning.

Not really I did too much too soon.

Should I get it looked at ? Bit worried

if it is still bad after a couple of days proper rest, then yes, def get it seen again.

Thank you for all of your advice. I'm starting to get a big concerned about it as its still very painful and I can't walk much...I have no choice but to do stuff for dd etc, frustratingly. I don't think it's healing properly though, so think I'm going to have to slow down.

Just updating....still in agony and haven't done much today at all...it hurts just to walk around the house....is very tender to the touch, though the bruising is going. Hurts on resting. Is it meant to hurt (and itch) so much or should I go and see a Dr?

I'd see the Dr. The itching might be down to the painkillers you are using, morphine often does that. But they may be able to give you a physio session to teach you how to walk, or give you crutches. You don't want it to get worse.

I've got crutches and an air boot atm. It hurts to walk though I can put my foot on the floor.

Hey :) The bruising has gone down, but I'm still in quite a lot of pain . I am walking with a stick, rather than crutches, so that's progress!
