Can I recommend you try listening to some Mindfulness apps. Jon Kabat Zinn is a specialist in health and very easy to relax to.

Please, please ask your GP to try another anti anxiety med. my FIL tried a few before finding one which has, quite literally transformed him.

Finally, please read the advice on managing IBS given to you. It is a horrid condition that you actually do have and the good news is that you can almost certainly improve it.

So, anxiety and IBS are your two problems. Please, after this wretched scan, focus on dealing with them. Your family and GP can support you as well as the kind folk here.

Absolutely all of your symptoms can be explained by IBS and/or anxiety. All of them. Your health anxiety means you cling on to every little physical symptom and it multiplies in your head. Lots of us feel mildly fluey now and again, lots of us have indigestion, anxiety can mean you drop weight but most people do not fixate on their symptoms in the same way that someone with a health anxiety does.

I used to have emetophobia, when my phobia was at it's worst I was absolutely fixated on feeling sick. I would analyse every twinge, dreading that feeling of nausea that might, just might, mean I felt sick. And if I actually ever did feel sick it was all I could think about. Treatment has meant that I still dread being sick but in a more normal way and I don't fixate on my phyiscal symptoms, real or imagined, any more.

Have you had the scan, kitcat?

First off, PC is a very rare cancer indeed, so chances are on your side that you DO NOT have it.

Secondly, and not to scare YOU, but to blow the myth that you would be very ill if you had PC, that is not exactly true, you are only extremely ill with PC in it's final stages, which is when it is usually diagnosed.

Typically patients suffer for 2 years or more with symptoms that go undiagnosed or misdiagnosed.

Also another myth is that it is an 'old' person's cancer, that is not true.

PanCan UK are trying to change those perceptions and raise awareness, not only with the public, but also with GP's and health care workers.

The tumour marker blood test for PC is called CA19-9, it is not a diagnostic or screening blood test, also it is not elevated in all cases of PC.

The lady who runs Pancreatic action UK, Ali Stunt, is a long term survivor of Pancreatic Cancer.

If you are in such a state about your fears, you really need to find the funds to have a private ultrasound scan or ideally a PET scan. Or do everything you can to convince your GP to send you for one (not going to be easy considering all your other tests are coming back normal).

Good luck.

BTW, have you had your thyroid hormones checked ?
