I will be 46 in two weeks.

The last few times me and dh have had sex I have been very dry and last night he commented that things were not so enjoyable because of it.

Relevant info, I am turned on when we do it and I do orgasm.
I had a hysterectomy at 37. I haven't gone through the menopause that I know of.

Help! What do I do to make it the way it used to be? Please don't say GP...

If you've found this page in your search of orgasm gels and orgasm lubes that have been recommended by fellow Mumsnet users, you might find our guide to the best orgasm gels useful. Hope this helps! MNHQ

I'm going to have to go to the GP in the next few weeks possibly anyway, as I found a lump in my boob last night. Rather fed up, it's my birthday in a week and I seem to have been gifted a breast lump, dry vagina and hot sweaty spells. Fan bloody tactic!!!

Oh, I'm not bothered about people knowing I have sex - been with dh for 21 years, I think folk know we do it by now!!!

It's odd to read about it as an "epidemic". Surely this is just a part of the ageing process, it's just that only recently were we able to treat it? Or live long enough to experience it. I'm not saying women shouldn't get treatment, but it seems wrong to describe it in terms of a disease.

Possibly go?
In a few weeks?

Shock If you find a lump in your breast you know you ought to see the dr on the same day (unless it's a weekend).

PLEASE do not wait for a few weeks- this is urgent.

pinkfrocks · 13/04/2015 17:28

Op I'm bumping this up in the hope that you will read it or that other posters will read it and urge you to see your dr now about the lump in your breast. Please do not wait.

After initially being told the next available appt is in three weeks, I have been offered one tomorrow at 15:40. The receptionist stressed she was doing me a big favour and that it is for one problem only, ie the lump. Thanks for replying all ??

Glad you're being seen quickly - I'd had my mammogram in less than 2 weeks from seeing GP.

The hot sweaty spells are probably linked to menopause/peri menopause and the vaginal dryness. Another thing to look forward to as I head into my mid 40s then!!!

ImperialBlether · 14/04/2015 12:35

Tell the receptionist that actually by staying at that practice you are doing her a favour and keeping her in a job!

Justusemyname · 14/04/2015 12:38

Rude receptionist. She's doing her job that she gets paid for!

I hope the lump isn't anything bad. Book another appointment as you leave. Tell the receptionist you want to keep her in a job!

DayLillie · 14/04/2015 17:23

Doing you a big favour by booking you in for a next day appointment for a breast lump Confused

Hope it goes well.

ilove · 15/04/2015 11:27

Thanks :)

Appt isn't until 15:40

Been and been seen bhy a young male gp, he got a chaperone and examined me and has found the same irregularity I felt, so is faxing a referral today to the breast clinic at the hospital. They'll ring me or write with an appt.

Thsnks Footle. Regarding the original reason for thyis thread, I had an unexpected appt with my endocrinologist today - there was a cancellation so they rang me to see if I could go, rather than waiting until June which is when my original appt was.

He asked lots of q's around thyroid and vit d problems I have, THEN asked if i was gettig hot flushes yet when I mentioned not sleeping. So he has done a whole raft of blood tests, inc female hormone ones, and right at the end I managed to say "sometimes at night with my husband there seems to be a bit of an issue..." and he immediately realised what I was saying and said he will write to the gp to prescribe some topical oestrogen cream, along with doubling my vit d and increasing the thyroxiene.

I seem to be surrounded by male GP's and consultants, and even my female friends usually come round with their husbands argh!!!

Could do with a cure for the snoring lol!!! Yes he was very quick on the uptake, I have no idea why I am so shy, I've had four children, eleven pregnancies, a hysterectomy under a spinal and I gave birth on TV. But this, nightmare!

ilove- lube can be lots of fun! It really doesn't have to be a passion killer, quite the opposite!

glittertits · 16/04/2015 15:26

Glad to see you have tackled your shyness head on ilove. Health isn't worth the risk, and I hope you get positive outcomes. Flowers

ilove · 16/04/2015 16:55

Had a call today from my local hospital to say they can't see me within two weeks, do I want to wait or go to the neighbouring health authority instead.

I don't mind where I go, so they have transferred me to Harrogate who rang me this afternoon with an appointment for next Friday morning at 08:45 (24th). So we'll see how that goes.
