Need to keep focussed as the DTs are about to be dropped off and the other kids will arrive anything from 15.45 to 16.30. DH on route back, but I need some company to keep me here iyswim.

I have no idea what has caused it, my balance is a bit off. Am concentrating really hard to type this.

Any one else ever come over really dizzy for no reason?

water? High b/p? low iron?

((hugs)) try and tak it easy as you can.

AnguaVonUberwald · 30/10/2006 15:15

Really obvious, but... low blood sugar?

QuootieSpookypie · 30/10/2006 15:16

can you manage a quick lie down?

TwigTwoolett · 30/10/2006 15:16

yes .. it will pass

try to breathe normally .. not too deeply

have some water if you can

maybe put your head between your knees for a while

quanglewangle · 30/10/2006 15:18

Yes, if you mean a problem with balance as opposed to fainting. I was diagnosed with an inner ear infection but don't think it was that as it recurs every few months. Not as bad as the first time, but maybe I have learnt to handle it. And I think being stressed and tired triggers it.

MarsLady · 30/10/2006 15:20

eaten breakfast and lunch. Drank lots of water. BP high but meds keep it normal (though I forgot to take them this weekend, took today).

Can't lie down till big ones home. Twins would set the place on fire (they have a fondness for the microwave)

I get this occassionally - no idea why, sorry! I normally just try to keep up blood sugars (as already mentioned) and sit (upright) quietly... it might have something to do with your inner ear, which helps with balance. Do you feel a bit like you're on a boat? I think it's called 'vertigo' when that happens.

loopity · 30/10/2006 15:23

I started getting dizzy spells, turned out to be low iron. Hope you feel better soon.

MarsLady · 30/10/2006 15:23

Yes I do feel boatlike. Never had this before. Feels very strange and I don't like it at all.

MarsLady · 30/10/2006 16:04

Oh blimey... I hope that it isn't that! Calling the doctors now think maybe I should get it looked at in case. And me a woman who doesn't ever go to the doctors. Now to find someone who can take me! Sigh.............. hope it isn't the labrywotsit! Sounds horrid!

quanglewangle · 30/10/2006 16:22

OOOhhh, sorry, really, really didn't mean to scare you.

Mine isn't all that bad - a bit of an inconvenience that's all. I was just happy (though that sound callous ) to find it wasn't uncommon and is nothing too sinister.

MarsLady · 30/10/2006 16:27

Not scared honey... annoyed if that is what it is. Better to check it out and find out that it's nothing at all. Might be because I didn't take my meds this weekend. Thanks for helping though

Mental note - in future keep my amateur, ill-informed, quack diagnoses to myself.

Good luck - keep us informed.

MarsLady · 30/10/2006 16:47

You're a good un. I never go to the doctors and I ought to when the need arises.

I've had labrynthitis, it lasted about 3 -4 weeks and started in a similar way. it was horrible, but some people only get it in a mild way, when I got it, I couldn't even sit up in bed. There was a plus side - dh had to take over my role for 3 weeks and has been very appreciative of how hard life is for me ever since.

Radley · 30/10/2006 17:02

I've been suffereing with labrynthitis for about 3 weeks now, i THOUGHT it had gone, but, yesterday I took the kids to a halloween party and there was loud music on, since I got home at 7pm last night my ears have been really hurting, can't focus (again) and I feel constantly sick, and I went to hang the washing out earlier and had to come back in as I couldn't open my eyes in the light, it was agony, so I came in and shut the room curtains only food I've managed today are 3 slices of toast and 2 smiley faces, drinking lots of water though.

Back to the doctors tomorrow me thinks.

Hope you feel better mars, but to me it sounds like you have labs, especially the boat feeling

MarsLady · 30/10/2006 17:04

No I can't have that! What about my lovely lovely salsa???????????????

OP posts:
MarsLady · 30/10/2006 17:05

someone type the word phonetically for me please so that I can mention it at the doctors in a short while.

OP posts:
Radley · 30/10/2006 17:06

Fingers crossed that you only have an ear infection and will be cleared up with ab's. When do you think you will get to see the doctor?

Radley · 30/10/2006 17:08

Might be being thick, but what do you mean type phonetically, you have spelt it right, if that is what you mean.

MarsLady · 30/10/2006 17:11

LOL I mean so that I can pronounce it! I hope you are right about the infection. My bf is picking me up at 5.15 to take me to the doctors. I have to wait until they have space for me.
