Regarding a breast lump.
Dr did the exam and informed me I have a mass and has referred me.
What will they do at the hospital?

There are endless reasons for a referral but it's hard not to imagine the worst so you're not being silly for doing so. I suspect also that your DH is frightened too hence the not entirely helpful behaviour.

I know you will have been now, and I hope it wasn't too scary for you. My diagnosis was "you have lumpy breasts" - which is actually an official description, I thought the consultant was being a bit rude when he first told me! I've found the staff involved incredibly kind and gentle with me, they have never dismissed any of my fears as silly and have always offered plenty of support.
