do you lean over the cot with your armpit resting on the edge?

CountessDracula · 14/04/2004 14:50

Coddy could it be saturday night palsy? It's a condition so called because it's often caused by sleeping awkwardly after a heavy night on the booze (but often not!) and it traps the radial nerve (I think) and can cause pins and needles/altered sensation/numbness.

Dh had pins and needles in his leg for ages and they did an mri scan for MS but it was just a trapped nerve, I really wouldn't panic (know it's hard though)

melsy · 14/04/2004 14:56

yes I do always lean over the cot lik that Pops , repeatedly!

Sat night palsy , havent heard of that one cd !

CountessDracula · 14/04/2004 15:05

Are you breastfeeding, Codswallop? I have pins and needles in my right hand and have had it ever since my 7th month of pregnancy. I've been breastfeeding DS for nearly 4 months now. I was told that it is Carpel Tunnel Syndrome and that it will go away eventually. It appears to be associated with my massive weight gain and water retention. HTH

popsycal · 14/04/2004 16:58

Oh coddy . I hope you are in bed right now. Poor you. I hope it goes away as quickly as it came.

Kayleigh · 14/04/2004 19:14

Coddy, look after yourself. Hope it's nothing serious honey and you're back being your normal brash self very soon.
XX

CountessDracula · 14/04/2004 19:18

Poor thing, hope you,re feeling better soon xx

goosey · 14/04/2004 19:21

Hope it's nothing too bad. Get your feet up with a hottie bottie and try not to worry.

Freckle · 14/04/2004 19:33

Oooh you must be getting star treatment. I just got told the "back in 2 weeks" bit No drawing of blood - pours out of me so wouldn't have been a problem.

Jimjams · 14/04/2004 19:36

I read somthing in the Times this weekend about this- if you go to the doctors with pins and needles or dizzy spellls (and apparently lots do) they apparently always start being serious and thinking about MS, but in 99.9% of cases it isn't that! (apparently its not a particularly first symptom of MS anyway).

And NHS direct seem to do a good line in worrying people. I was told that ds1 needed to see a dr urgently today so to go to A and E - (He couldn't wee) and (this is the NHS direct reassuring bit) "if he collapses and stops breathing on the way pull over and dial 999 on your mobile" (!!!) OK I was fairly gibbering by the time I arrived!

Twinkie · 15/04/2004 09:33

This can also be a symptom of a migrane - you don't have to get the pain - I very often get all of the other visual and physical symptoms, including pins and needles down one side of my body/face/hands and fingers but no pain!!

Do you suffer from migrane at all??
