It seems to have come and gone for a week or so, and every time I've been about to take her to GP the Sudacrem, or Metanium, that I've used seems to do the trick. Then it comes back.
Its not worse at night, as far as I can tell, though I've wondered about threadworms.
I can't see any eczema like dryness around the openings, though she does get mild eczema elsewhere (esp on her face, at the moment).
I haven't seen any discharge in her knickers.
She is recently potty trained, maybe about a month.
She says it itches and hurts in warm baths, particularly - otherwise just occasionally see her looking uncomfortable and rubbing at it.
I will take her to GP on Monday, but meantime - any thoughts? Tips?

hi ladies only dd had wrigglers and slight itch at front all treated 1st and 2nd dose i did my washes at 95 mountains of washing especially towels ended up telling kids to use small hand towels after showers i found it easier to dry them also instead of bathing i showered them all down and gently pointed at bums then gave them nail brush hope not to see any more for a while!!!!!!!!!

I HATE this. Am sure everyone does. Just nearly burst into tears when I realized hadn't done damp dusting - have fair sized cluttered house, dd not at nursery today, have friend (mine, thankfully!) arriving any minute and am knackered. And have probably blown it all by dosing last night then cleaning today - though everyone slept with pants/pjs on and I changed our bed, just not dd's. DH just started on hoovering - how do you all do it, superwomen?!

OK, feel better for mini outburst...

My washing machine only goes up to 60...

Piffle, how long do you carry on washing daily towels? Anything else you need to do ongoingly?
Sorry to be so full of ???s, just feel sooo ignorant about all this (no doubt will be an expert six months from now, like it or not).

I wash towels bedding and underwear daily on 60 wash
Luckily have been able to line dry for almost 2 weeks.

I just fire the wash on first thing and get it hung out or in the drier ASAP and back on the beds in the afternoon.
Hoovering every 2-3 days (slacker emoticon) and damp dusting when I can be arsed - maybe 2 x weekly. I'm fastidious about dd's room and stuff the most though.

Elibean · 26/09/2006 12:41

Thanks....I can cope with daily washing of sheets (I use about six pillows at the moment because of heartburn, might have to ease up on those!) and towels, and underwear has always been changed daily anyway. WAshing soft toys every day is beyond me - too many of them.
Will see if DH is willing to hoover dd's room and play area daily, but its beyond me to lug hoover upstairs now, so for me.
Will just have to hope that either its not threadworms at all (still very possible) or that we're very lucky in washing the right bits.

I can't tell if I have worm symptoms or not - no idea. Wish I knew.

bagged up all the soft toys bar one or two favourites...
about heartburn I'm just getting the 1st inkling of it at 15 weeks...

Elibean · 26/09/2006 12:46

Oh Lor, you dealt with all that in the first trimester? You poor love! Though I suppose the third trim isn't hugely better..
Sorry heartburn is kicking in, it really is the pits - I'm taking Zantac (OB's blessing) but still bad. Zantac helps a lot though - and is fine in last two trimesters: beats Gaviscon hands down.
God, if I bag up soft toys (about four or five regulars) my life won't be worth living. dd just started nursery, just potty trained, about to have a sister, and security objects at a premium around here..

i did same as you dosed then cleaned didnt damp dust every day but tried to keep up with the towels and underwear hopefully your dd doesnt even have it try not to do too much need to go now off to my work dh getting kids from school!might chat later bye for now

Elibean · 26/09/2006 21:23

Thanks OB. Not sure if dd less itchy today or not (as not very in first place). No sign of dead white things in poo, although if I stare hard enough I can see things that could be disintegrating off-white hair type things - not bright white, and not wriggly, could just be vegetable matter think I had better stop poo-gazing.
Have read up on piperazine and pregnancy, and its not a total no-no - GPs can advise its use at their discretion, and its been used a lot without any apparent harm to 2nd or 3rd trimester foetuses. So if I go completely mad (likely) I can always beg for that....
Meantime, house is cleaner than its been for a while, wonder if I'll keep it up! Hope your family now done and dusted with worms, for a looooong time to come

Hi Elibean, not sure if this helps, but have four offspring aged between 15 and 4 - TWs have ocurred about 4 times in last 12 years: each time have dosed with Ovex and changed sheets etc the next day. That's it. Keep nails short, and do followup dose only if symptoms don't settle. Once they are dosed bedding and towels will be fine from the next day on - honestly.

Elibean · 26/09/2006 22:47

Oooo, YES it helps! If I can let myself off a few hooks I might not go mad after all...had begun to feel seriously stressed and unable to cope
I know TW can be persistent and a nightmare, but its so good to hear it can be an occasional annoyance, not a huge deal, too. Big thank you.
