Congratulations! Waiting till the end of the month is totally unacceptable! Midwife should do a booking in appointment with you around 9 weeks and then they book in your scans for 11-13 weeks.

Thanks Why

Sorry - just realised that could be seen as something for you to worry about - don't stress about that the midwives always manage to get the scan in for the right time regardless of how late GP's book you in. I just wanted to give you a weapon to use on the receptionist :)

Thiscantbetrue · 06/08/2014 12:57

Ok thank you Thanks

Hey, congratulations Grin.

Depending on where you live some hospitals do get extremely booked up so decide where you would like to have your baby so you can get referred to your choice. I've honestly seen GP referral letters where the patient is literally one day overdue and has been straight to the GP. You want your scans, booking and bloods etc all within the next four weeks or so, so yes to earliest GP appointment.

Exciting times, well done.x

Thiscantbetrue · 06/08/2014 17:18

Thank you Mathilda

That's what I thought & with only having one tiny hospital nearby I didn't want to be waiting til mid September if not later for a scan Smile

Congratulations Grin I poas every day for a few weeks, I'm sure it's normal to pee on multiple sticks Grin

MrsSpencerReid · 06/08/2014 17:31

For a few weeks after my bfp I don't do it all the time, honest Wink

Thiscantbetrue · 06/08/2014 17:36

You do not need to POAS every day! The sticks are sensitive to human chorionic gonadadotrophin, a pregnancy hormone. So they can give false negatives (if levels are very low) but not false positives.

OP, you are indeed pregnant Smile.

Anyone else tempted to do multiple tests, save your money. If you have medical concerns see your GP. If you just can't believe it, spend your cash on something else.

cookielove · 06/08/2014 21:25

Oh yay congratulations! !

onepieceoflollipop · 06/08/2014 21:29

congratulations OP.
all this talk of multiple peas reminded me of that episode of Gavin and Stacey, she couldn't believe it either and had a shoe box full of +ve tests!!

onepieceoflollipop · 06/08/2014 21:34

Multiple POAS not peas!!

MrsSpencerReid · 06/08/2014 22:38

No you're right Matilda, I didn't need to but I'd just had a mc and couldn't quite believe it, I'd just bought a job lot of cheap ones off eBay so it wasn't an expensive pass time.
Thiscantbetrue, hope the morning sickness doesn't get you!!

eurochick · 06/08/2014 22:44

That's brilliant news, OP. I had a 3 year wait for my BFP too and couldn't believe it when I finally got it. So, so many congratulations to you!

newyearnewshoes · 06/08/2014 22:48

I had this too and not pregnant.
Doctor did blood tests and found out I have low oestrogen count but all ok apart from that. Still ovulating and fertile etc. Doctor not worried at all said sometimes it happens.
Was regular as clockwork beforehand! This started last November

newyearnewshoes · 06/08/2014 22:49

And congratulations OP!

Thiscantbetrue · 06/08/2014 23:22

It's more constantly queezy rather than morning sickness I'm not sure if it's better or worse tbh Smile
