So sorry you are having an awful time Becca I can recommend councelling too. I've had three sessions now, the first I cried for the whole hour and didn't feel any benefit, the second session I cried for half an hour and the third no crying and now feel like I may have turned a corner. Have you an assigned Macmillan nurse? They are generally good to talk to for support too x

I'm in shock!
BCN rang at 5 just as I was going to leave a message to say i was turning my phone off and would speak to them next week.
They have revised the path report and decided no microinvasions present so no further treatment! i have a follow up surgical appt next week to check my boob and that's it....... totally delighted understatement I can hardly believe it...
Off out with DH and DS to drink fizz and maybe eat something.
I will contact my regular BCN next week when she's back to have a debrief and a wtf session.....and to check that they are really sure this time.
Don't know what else to say.

Am home but a bit sore and trying not to move by using my arms which is tricky. Have plenty of painkillers and antibiotics to take. The drains aren't as bad as I imagined but a bit of a pain. Will catch up with everyone properly tomorrow.

Speedy how long have you got the drains in for? I carried mine about in a leopard print handbag

The support and generosity of spirit on this thread is breathtaking and not something I have really experienced before so I guess I have the vile cancer to thank for that at least. Thank you all so much.
I honestly thought the phone call this afternoon was going to confirm the kind of cancer I had got and give an idea of the treatment regime and next steps. I still can hardly believe it and can only think that on Monday my surgeon decided to give me worst case scenario and then maybe good news rather than risk it being the other way around.
I am so.tired. Just back from fizz and food, now a bit of tv and then crash into bed. See you all tomorrow xx

Marshy, just back from dd2 18th birthday meal and had to check in to see if you had received news. I can't tell you how pleased I am for you. What a turn around, I bet you just don't quite believe the awful week you've just had. My goodness, could emotions be more extreme? Have a fabulous weekend.

Hello marshy, didn't get a chance to log on yesterday and woke up in the night wondering how your results had gone. Brilliant news.
becca sorry you are having such an (understandably) low spell. I think having the children and measuring your own mortality against theirs is so poignant. Do take some comfort from amber and the good advice about counselling. In the meantime keep emoting on here.

Hi speedy, glad to hear everything went well. The drains are a pain (particularly if you have a dog who jumps up) but will be gone in a relatively short time and then you get to keep the lovely bags!
Hi to wine saw you on another (Christmas related) thread - wondering if you were thinking the same as me!
Thanks for the tamoxifen tips, I think I will wait until the current chemo flushes stop (they are subsiding ) and go for it at breakfast.
Thanks also for the neuropathy info. I could do with talking to someone about it but I seem to be in that limbo stage between chemo and rads, no appointments set up with onc and not sure if I should start engaging with my GP who has not been involved at all in my diagnosis and treatment.
Had MRI for spot on liver on Wednesday, hopefully results will be reassuring, not surprised some people struggle with MRIs, I'm not in the least claustrophobic but really didn't feel comfortable.
Sorry foo I've never started a thread before - hopefully someone else has more experience.

Drains are a pain speedy, mine were only in for 4 days so hopefully they'll be out soon.

Hi Bigger Buns, I'll PM you my thoughts! it was funny when I took my first tamoxifen as I swallowed it and sat there waiting for something to happen!! Think I've said, but it did upset my tummy for a couple of weeks at the start which soon settled down and to be honest, the hot flushes are no worse than when I was on the chemo.

Hope you're feeling a little better becca, its so tough trying to be strong for everyone else, especially with little ones about. HUGE hugs.

I'm loving been back at work but I am totally exhausted-worse than when I was on the chemo (although not feeling sick). I was starting to worry about it till I read than extreme fatigue (which does sound better than just bloody knackered ) is very common after treatment. Still half term in a week so intend to sleep for all of it!!

I am happy to try and start a new thread but I'm rubbish at thinking up good titles so will need hep with that!
