sorry F&Z, took the initiative in your absence. Now who's for a jog to settle all those huge Sunday dinners

I've walked a bunch today, almost all with DS2 on my shoulders (ouch!). And had a huge salad for lunch, an apple, a nectarine, a bunch of grapes, and dried fruit with muesli, which has got to be 7 servings.

No running today, though, my calves are still annoyed about yesterday's run - I was going along a (probably) disused railway track, and ended up running on the ties, taking very long strides, which was hard work on my legs.

I might do some pilates or taebo, though.

Charleesunnysunsun · 27/08/2006 20:10

Hello all you Shiny Happy People!!!

I have had a big glass of fruit juice but am not hungry so just had an orange but i think i have had my 10 today.

Panboy · 27/08/2006 20:17

This is SO uplifting!!

Have harvested a large kitchen snap-bag of berries - they are just falling off! Have those in the fridge, and cut and paste the receipe from the old thread - they taste nicely bitter/sweet, and I am about one third through the bushes. The garden is big and varied...found wee srawberies this year, and have used the rhubarb for a crumble...btw this is all with no effort at cultivation by me. Just very fortunate.

Slicing now for the biggest stir-fry in Christendom....

Panboy · 27/08/2006 20:19

oh, and did a high level walk wit hmy Skye buddy AND was at gym early evening for X-trainer, weights and a 6-length swim..pretty good day!

Panboy · 27/08/2006 21:46

ok. Stir fry. Onion, one carrot, quarter cauli, 6 V. big savoy leaves, handful of mange-tout, galic, a red chilli, 3 large mushies, half a small brocalli head small bag of prawns..plus sauce and noodles.

I may glow in the dark....

NotQuiteCockney · 28/08/2006 01:06

Lucky you, Panboy, with all the fruit. It's the one thing I mind about being in the city, the lack of a garden for growing fruit and veg. Then again, I suck at gardening, so it's no big loss.

I had gazpatcho at tea, and a pizza with some veg. Must be at 9 or 10 by now. Feeling quite good for it, too, being lower on fruit and veg last week was quite unpleasant.

Papillon · 28/08/2006 07:14

Morning All

FMF is it possible you could start the recipe thread for Panboy please

My intention for this week is to do some exercise that does not involve carrying around children. Did some Yoga yesterday and it felt very good.

off to eat an organic grapefruit

Moring all, my peaches are ripe enough to eat so i have scoffed 2 of them!
And if Cherry jam counts i have had a ton of that on toast aswell!

Having Mushroom and Beef Stragaboff for lunch then probably a light salad for tea. Its p*ssing down with rain here so i'm not doing any outside excersise!

We got a puppy yesterday so trying to keep DS from sitting on it and giving it 'loves' will kepp my vair busy!

Shiny thoughts to all xxx

A new puppy Charleesunnysunsun, can my dd come and visit - she would love her own puppy.

Have a good short break aviatrix - are you off to visit Panboy the Large New Tourist attraction?

Thank you superintendent-fiend for these threads

Left over quiche for lunch. Now I am eating many fresh Prunes which seem to be in season here in Switzerland. My grapefruit was georgeous and I am eating a plum right now, black grapes to finish this lunch time feast!

Charleesunnysunsun · 28/08/2006 14:04

You can all come visit if your near by!
My house is open to everyone but do call first!

I had my lunch then some strawberries and bananna's in custard for pudding yummy!

aviatrix!

I reside in God's Own County Of Derbyshire, in the beautiful Peak District.

Overrun · 28/08/2006 19:56

Hello all, I have fallen off the wagon this weekend. Had a heart broken friend to stay, did eat lots of fruit and veg but wasn't quite hitting the ten mark.
Like the recipe thread, will look there for inspiration this week.

Panman · 28/08/2006 21:13

I think I've done really well, but probably still far short of Overrun's alledgedly modest tally...

dinner was roasted veg...won't bore you (again) with ingredients list - the usual suspects which is being finished off for lunch tomorrow. 4 points on the fruit front (no time to do the crumble) so reckon near about 8 for the day, but sans exercise.....

Charleesunnysunsun · 29/08/2006 09:32

Moring ladies and gents!
Have started the day with a peach and a large glass of juice, i will have something else not quite sure what yet.

I think i met my 10 target yesterday, infact my mother ever so lovley as she is commented saying that i eat so much fruit i must sh*t like nobody's business!

Not doing to well with the excersise yesterday i'm getting so pregnant it's getting harder!! I'm pretty much relying on my vigerous housework routine to keep my excersise up!

I am trying to think of recipies to put on the other thread but my mind has drawn a blank! I rely on a stocked fruit bowl and steamed veg with meat for dinner i will take a look and find something a wee bit more exciting!

I have a whole unclaimed orchard outside my house that grows every year, the council own it but don;t maintain it so i have helped my self to some apples/greengages/damsons and blackberries!

Im going to make crumble

Papillon · 29/08/2006 11:57

Your own wild orchard, how wonderful! I want one

I ate Bircher museli that I made, it did taste abit insipid with the pineapple - still hearty and healthy.

I wish it would stop raining, this summer went from baking to wet blanket to quickly. Putting up the price of fruit and vege, the price of organic veg I got at the market last weekend was phenomenal.

Panman · 29/08/2006 12:39

Home for lunch, of last nights left overs (roast veg) and two kiwi fruits....

does it ever stop getting sunnier in Charleeworld???

Papillon · 29/08/2006 12:51

Yes send me some sun Charlee. metaphysically or metrologically.

Hope those kiwi fruit were from New Zealand Panman I am from those isles.

Overrun · 29/08/2006 15:38

Hi all, what is bircher museli by the way? Panboy, nothing wrong with roast veg, and it doesn't have to be the same veg every time. Have you tried roasting parsnips with a bit of honey? Just a thought. I caught myself looking forward to Autumm today, there is a bit of a nip in the air and I was thinking about all the different changes in food with the different seasons. I know we all eat stuff from all around the world now and seasons are not so important, but I like keeping within season for the most part.
Bit of a digression there. I have had two apples, museli, orange juice, and a salad for lunch. Lets say six so far.
Will try and think of some good veg/fruit recipes for the other thread.

fullmoonfiend · 29/08/2006 16:35

Back to work and I've done shockingly badly today. No exercise, 1 plum and some salad in my lunchtime butty. May manage 2 more portions for dinner...which is a shame as I do actually feel as though my energy levels have been increased the last few days.

OP posts:
Panman · 29/08/2006 19:56

Veg. -based pizza for dinner plus 7 strawberries.....about 8 again!!!

Yes overrun, roasts are nice, but it can get a bit samey. If you are catering for one, it is a bit of a challenge to eat a full brocalli, a full cabbage, a full cauli, the leeks, and all else whilst they are still as fresh as possible, and REALLY like it each time. Can buy small packets, but 1. more expensive and 2. really sad!

Parsnips and honey? No.....

and papillon, I always check to ensure they are genuine kiwis,........ like the champagne argument??? (phew..)just had another two..

Overrun · 29/08/2006 20:25

Just a thought panman, you seem to have grown up in my absence. I like parsnips drizzled with a little honey.
For dinner, I had beetroot, and runner beans, peas and carrots. I had them with cauliflower cheese grills from the freezer (not sure whether they count or not
An apple and a Mango juice to finish. hurray

Panman · 29/08/2006 20:44

yes, panboy seemed, hmmm...inaccurate.....

adore roast parnsips, but never honey'ed them before.....

it seems alot harder to keep the 10 up on days when one is working...the invitation seems to be to fill up on carbos....
