So this is the first thread I'm starting on here. It is in reality a 2nd thread to follow up Zings Christmas drink more water challenge.

I drink far too much tea, and not enough water. When I increased my water intake for Zings challenge I felt loads better, my skin was much healthier and I felt good that I was benefiting my health.

So go and install the Hydro app on your phone's and join me for my water challenge!

How's everyone doing? I've been mostly managing 2l a day and feeling much better for it. I'm really thirsty when I wake up in the mornings these days so I've been downing a pint of water as soon as I get up which helps me get a head start on the water intake and stops me pigging out at breakfast. I've lost 3lbs since I started doing this and my skin looks a lot smoother Smile

I've OD'd on the caffeine today, and have a headache to show for it.

I've been managing 2L most days, or rather about 1.8l of pure water, and the rest made up with fruit teas.

I too have been waking up thirsty Notunder, it seems like the more your body gets the more it wants?

I have also noticed (TMI alert) a big increase in CM this cycle. I usually get a good dose of the stuff but not until later in my cycle. Been EWCMing early this month.. interesting.

Keep up the good work!

Get it down the hatch lil!!

Go and grab a glass of water, and just gulp it all down while you're still standing at the sink. There's 400ml done in a few seconds.

I have really noticed a difference in my CM this month by the way, (not sure if this is the thread to be talking about that, as we're just talking about drinking water for health benefits not necessarily ttc)

Ooh poor you lil - Lemsip is still good though.

And if you need more but have reached your max dose, hot honey and lemon is lovely too.

Hope you feel better soon.

thanks cosy. well if you count black tea lemsip and water I drank 2l yesterday! but only 500ml was real water. not sure why but the thought of milk in my tea was not a nice one yesterday. I only have a splash anyway so to go to black was not a major switch, but I've really enjoyed it. might make it permanent. does decaf tea still have antioxidants in?

No idea re decaf...

I always go off milk in my tea when I have a cold too, makes me feel sick. 2l is great, even if it was in hot drinks that's all still going to the right place.

As I wrote on the JSing thread, thanks to you starting this thread I really have drunk loads more than usual and am really feeling the benefits, IYKWIM

hi water people. I have made tge effort for a week now (since af started) gave been having 400 ml grapefruit juice and about 1.5l water. trued to stop caffeine but failed thus morn with a cuppa tea, but 1 shouldn't dry me up right? im doing it for the pant snot. I suffer allergies in the office I work and usually take antihistamines to combat it, but have stopped as I hear it dries everything up!! so now plenty of nose snot but none for pants. maybe too early as d7?
haven't really noticed any other changes or benefits feom all this water, but will stick to it.
Good luck ladies.
I find a 500ml bottle which I fill up from office water cooler is how I am managing it.

I think I've been managing a good 1.8-2L a day, but it varies.

I'm definitely finding it easier to drink more water - yesterday in work I guzzled 4 large glasses no problem, whereas I usually manage one with lots of tea.

Having said that I've had none this morning, so I'll sort that out right now!

Thanks for this thread Lil it's really encouraged me.

I've been rubbish the last few days, managed about 500mls at most! I seem to be so much better if I just down a pint at a time so I will start again tomorrow with a pint before breakfast. Well done lil and cosy!

You can do it not and well done lil for the 1l.

I can't cope with a whole pint, so I just drink 400ml glasses. I'll fill it with really cold water and guzzle as much as I can whilst standing at the sink, then top it up again to take with me. That way, you sneak a bit more water in before your body realizes!

I have definitely found myself feeling more thirsty, as if my body is getting used to having more, and so wants more, more more!!!

I've slipped a bit, had about 1l each day, but also had too much tea, and a few beers, so that's probably wiped out any good effects of the extra water!

On the plus side, I've discovered Camomile tea isn't as disgusting as I had imagined, so that's good.
