So this is the first thread I'm starting on here. It is in reality a 2nd thread to follow up Zings Christmas drink more water challenge.

I drink far too much tea, and not enough water. When I increased my water intake for Zings challenge I felt loads better, my skin was much healthier and I felt good that I was benefiting my health.

So go and install the Hydro app on your phone's and join me for my water challenge!

Poor Minion Grin hehe! I know what you mean though, I made it to a litre, and I had to get my arse off the sofa twice during Silent Witness last night!
I'm a branch manager lil, but it's only a tiny branch so I'm busy most of the day, serving customers & opening accounts, forgetting to drink is very easy!
Right. I'm getting out of bed... Glass of water before I jump in the car!

ahh that is tricky. ok so you need to get one of those funky water despensers out front, for the customers of course, so you can neck a cup every few customers through the day!

I've been increasing my water intake for about a week or so, serious trips to the loo - good exercise though!

My skin feels fab, tmi but I'm on my period and always break out in spots but amazingly I have none at all. I'm even make up free it's seriously looks so much better. Can this really just be the water increase?

I've just started doing this, got to 2l today! Is anyone else feeling bloated despite near constant peeing since upping their water intake? I think my body just hasn't realised that it doesn't need to hold on to all the water yet!

Did ok today! Probably one litre. Does alcohol get knocked back off my total though?! Wink

Surely if you're getting up to pee so much, you're drinking more water than you need.

OP, if you're drinking tea, you're drinking water.

Yeah, I think I am. However i'm used to drinking 1-2 glasses in the whole day so surely this is better for me in the long run.
Its eased off now, in fact yesterday I was gasping and that never happens.

echt read the previous posts. its about drinking pure unadulterated water. I am quite aware tea is made with water, but you also add milk and teabag to it. for all you know I have 10 sugars in my tea. clearly water is the healthier choice regardless.

minion I'd forgotten that when I was doing this before I actually started to realise I was thirsty. must try harder today.

as for drinking too much, as long as your not drinking gallons an hour, I'd rather I was peeing more than dehydrated!

hi notundermyfoof I've just realised I forgot to answer you. I do find I get a but bloated at first when upping the water but it got better. how are you getting on?

Good thanks lil I'm only on day 3 but I'm finding it much easier already. I was really thirsty when I woke up this morning which has never happened before so I think maybe I was so used to being dehydrated I had stopped noticing the signs. I used to suffer frequent utis, headaches and constipation which are all linked to dehydration, most days I would drink nothing but tea and coffee! I've been googling increased water intake and found lots of promising stories so I'm determined to keep it up Smile

700 mls and 2 coffees so far today.

Another 2 litres today and I'm definitely feeling better for it! I read an article online in the daily fail about a woman who drank 3 litres of water a day for a month and her skin looked amazing by the end of the month so I've taken a picture of myself today to compare in a few weeks in case I need an incentive to carry on!

ooh good plan not I definitely found drinking hot water easier yesterday so going to keep with that tact today and aim for 1.5l, then build up to 1.75l by the end of the week. I don't think I could manage 2l and hydro only calculates 1.7 for me.
I did have a sugar binge over the weekend. fell completely off the dieting wagon so need to crank it up today and get back on the healthy eating and start some exercise!

I'm still trying to keep up - I've been managing between 1.7 - 2l each day, a combination of water and hot water with ginger & lemon tea (is that allowed?)

I've also cut right down on my tea consumption - trying to limit it to 2 cups a day, followed by Redbush tea if I need any more.

I'm peeing lots, but I always do anyway. I'm finding that the water goes down much easier than I'd expected, helps when it's nice and cold.

I've tried to Google the recommended amount for women ttc - but I can't seem to find a consistent answer. Does anyone have any idea?

lil1ady · 14/01/2014 15:48

I guess it would just be the normal recommended amount for a woman cosy but I guess it could change once pg?

I've done rubbish today. only 200ml. must go get another drink
