Lost my blinking post. Shouldn't be mning in middle of night I suppose. Didn't sleep well and have annoying wheeze although cold seems a bit better.
Collar bones a popular break - remember gran doing hers falling downstairs while cleaning a window. Hope you dad is well enough to ride again soon, pigeons

Gigondas · 24/09/2013 06:58

Morning all - jchoc sorry you are feeling poorly.

Pigeons - yes Defo up for trip next week, will pm you. Meant to say sorry to hear about your dad but also quietly impressed about his horse riding skills. Hope he is on the mend quickly.

Arm bit better but it is directly related to what I do so its do nothing , low pain but bored or be normal and have pain.

Kitkat I nodded at your post as that could be mini gig. Very good natured but goes downhill as day goes on. She is very lovely tho.

today it's mini gig first singing group, some woo treatment then fleetwood mac later with my dsis . I am very excited.

Morning all

I say morning, but I have actually been up since 3.30

Gigs sounds like you have a lovely day ahead, hope you have a great time.

I have the interesting task of making a costume today, for my eldest charge to wear to school on Friday. Should prove interesting, and keep my mind off things for a few hours.

I hope everyone has a good day. Good luck to those of you with hospital appointments today.

xxxxx

Gigondas · 24/09/2013 07:22

What's the costume for ? Is it world book day?

OP posts:
malteserzz · 24/09/2013 07:30

Morning all
NotJ sorry you are feeling so down, hugs
Gigs I've got the song in my head again !
Wondering how Betsy is, hope the tax trucks not got you again
Waving to everyone else Smile

I'm off to see my oncologist this morning, we'll doubt very much it's actually her as have only seen her for 5 seconds when she shook my hand after my 1st appointment ! It's just to see how I'm getting on and talk about moving on to tax so not too worried about it, not as worried as I am about taking 8 bloody steroids from tomorrow!

Mum and dad love the naturism, I can kind of understand it on a beach in beautiful weather but not in the cold, and what I really don't get is sitting around the table with lots of strangers naked eating I'm sure that would put me off my dinner ! Each to their own though they love it Grin

MaryAnnSingleton · 24/09/2013 08:01

big hugs to nj and love to all generally...

reallyreallyworried · 24/09/2013 08:08

No not world book day yet! Her school is having a celebrating Roahl Dahl Day! So its a character from one of his books! xx

Gigondas · 24/09/2013 08:25

Ask em of can do anything to help steroid side effects- you still got some sleeping tabs? On plus side steroids good on helping other chemo side effects so may help reduce the tax truck effect.

Am Grin about your parents on holiday -it's actually really nice that they have this and seem to enjoy it. Tho I am thinking of that film about naturists in carrying on camping...

More coffee I think while I wait to make some for builders ( still not finished yet ).

OP posts:
Gigondas · 24/09/2013 08:30

That explains really why big gig was coming home chattering about roald Dahl the other day - must have said something in her school.

we are currently reading Matilda (which I never read as a kid). I am less keen on some of his darker books (the witches comes to mind) as they scared me as a child . Big gig seems to be as wussy imaginative as me so I may forgo reading them for now.

Trouble is (as was saying to pigeons) big gig can read well but finding her age appropriate stories more tricky. Luckily lovely mas sent her a joke book which is perfect.

HerNextDoorAt21 · 24/09/2013 08:54

lol kitkat when this whole (or is it hole ??) wound thing started, the junior reg joked taht the longest she has seen a wound open for was a year "not that it will happ[en to you" she said .... i hope I don't have to put those words on a plate and make her eat them !

malt - naturists ? How on earth did you manage that one as a teenager ? Separate holiday s ? lol

really what a nightmare with the cannula, that is the siort of thsing that ALWAYS happens to me !

gigs sorry you are in pain and hope it has eased a bit now

nj I hate that temper feeling and have to admit to 1. kicking inanimate objects and 2. standing outside the back door and screaming my head off .... both methods do not cure the problem but do make me feel better !

Grin to everyone else

notJenkins · 24/09/2013 09:39

Thanks for the good wishes. I am at the hospital now, blood test done waiting for the injection but have an hour to wait. May go and have a coffee and a wonka bar as I have never had one before. I hate waiting round !
This afternoon I go into battle to try to get the mortgage thug sorted after a week of waiting.
We had lots of funny stories about that naturist beach as it is very close to us and seems to attract naturists that like to make a point and appear from the dunes to stand in front if you on a cold winters day. My children have had quite an education and yes it is dogs on leads certainly..

notJenkins · 24/09/2013 09:40

Good autocorrect thug is a very appropriate term

malteserzz · 24/09/2013 11:28

I've just written a long message and it's disappeared !
Hope all goes well NotJ lol at mortgage thug !

graciesmall09 · 24/09/2013 12:43

Remember me, sorry not been around much been feeling pretty awful so couldn't really keep up with discussion. Anyway waving to you all. Hello to all the newbies. Sorry you are here. malt you are fairly rattling through those chemos. hnd hope you get your leaky bits sorted soon and you too gigs.

I'm off for a brain scan tomorrow so could do with some box sitting. I was hoping onc was going to tell me it was probably down to me overdoing things (which I have been as I have been covering 3 departments in work) but he is concerned about the dizziness I am having Sad. Please let it be ok as it is my biggest fear.

I really will try to catch up more if/when I feel better xx

notJenkins · 24/09/2013 12:45

My large and mildly radioactive arse firmly planted on the box for you gracie

handbagsatdawn · 24/09/2013 12:47

Hello just popping in to introduce myself. Without going into masses of background, went to hosp last week to have worrying lump in boob checked, had ultrasound and mammogram and it appears to be nasty (sorry can't say that word yet). Had biopsies done and am now waiting for results. Back to see consultant at 4pm tomorrow for results, prognosis and treatment plan I guess. Early indications are that the lump is small so hopefully treatable. Have stopped being a quivering wreck now and bursting into tears at every given opportunity, but I guess there's a long road ahead and I'm hoping you lovely ladies can hold my hand Smile.

KurriKurri · 24/09/2013 12:49

sitting firmly on the box for you gracie xx

BetsyBoop · 24/09/2013 13:29

Welcome handbags Though sorry you might be joining us. The waiting for results is awful.

gracie bum firmly parked on the box.

Hope everyone else is okay as struggling to focus to read ATM -due to effect of extra painkillers to combat the tax truck. Good news is the extra painkillers have been working, so much better than last time pain wise. Bad news is I'm totally spaced man, but better floating through it than pain I think :)

HerNextDoorAt21 · 24/09/2013 13:37

Oh gracie I have my more than ample arse sat on the box for you too.

handbags welcome to the most supportive place ever. Sorry you find yourself here and loads of luck for tomorrow. I am very lucky and had a nasty bit that didn't develop into a treatable nasty bit but have had extensive surgery and more than my fiar share of woes. We will all hold your hand through this episode.

betsy hope you are feeling very much better soon

gigs any nice eye candy on the builder front

kitkat1967 · 24/09/2013 13:48

Aftenoon all.

Welcolme Handbags - I think I have seen your post on another thread but welcome here - sorry you have to join us but once you get all your info and treatment plan (if required) things will look better.

Gracie - that's my biggest fear too so i will well and truely park myself on the box for you and keep my fingers tightly crossed.

Good luck nj - you have a lot on your plate at the moment - hope all today's appts go OK.

HND - I hope your jnr reg is not a consultant by the time your wound heals!!

I have been to see onc this morning - very good meeting - he said he has discussed my case with his colleagues and it is agreed that having the chemo is the right thing to do so he is pleased that I said I would it. So will start weekly Paclitaxel next week but will probably only do 9 weeks (not the full 12) as we both agree that should be enough and some of the SEs kick in right at the end so may be able to avoid the worse of them. He said he was concerned that if I did Doxetaxel (Sp?) I would be wiped out in the first cycle and not complete the course. No verdict on Rads yet as he needs to consult with radiologist but I told him that I was not keen!!
As it's weekly i'll need bloods done every week but only need to see onc every 3rd cycle unless there is a problem. Also I had to be weighed and was pleased as no change (maybe lost a lb or 2) Smile.

KurriKurri · 24/09/2013 14:20

hello Handbags - sorry I x-posted earlier - I wasn't ignoring you! Grin sorry that you find yourself here, but you are very welcome of course, hope we can offer some hand holding while you wait for results. The 'not knowing' is very stressful - and bursting in to tears and quivering all very normal, once you know what's what you can start to get your head round treatment and you''ll have some sort of focus, -it is a long haul, but doable as the ladies on here will confirm. Smile xx

Kitkat - sounds like a very positive meeting, and good you are getting started quickly - you'll have finished chemo by the end of the year -Yay!!

Waving to HND - how is wound doing today?

Waving to spaced out Betsey, gigs, NJ and everyone x

malteserzz · 24/09/2013 14:58

Gracie fingers firmly crossed for you x
Handbags sorry you have to join us but welcome do let us know what treatment you will be having as then we can help and share our experiences, I'm sure you will feel a bit better once you know what's happening
Kitkat glad you have a plan now is it tablets or infusion ( is that the right word ?? ) fingers crossed for few side effects

I asked about my node op today and said I didn't want a long wait after chemo so she's going to write to my surgeon today and try and get a date. Last chemo is 7th November I'd really like it before Christmas then ill have rads, probably 3 weeks worth. Am starting to see the finishing line now !

malteserzz · 24/09/2013 15:01

Meant to say Betsy glad you're feeling a bit better than last cycle. I've got a prescription for sleeping tablets to have on my steroid days, can't face sleepless nights !

handbagsatdawn · 24/09/2013 15:07

Thanks for your kind welcoming messages. I shall endeavour to keep up - this thread moves very fast.
