I can't watch surprise surprise without getting flashbacks to cilla black singing the theme.

Haven't seen all of downton yet so will watch later. Watched the look of love (film about life of Paul Raymond) which was very good -quite sad but very well done.

Good Luck today really . Will be thinking of you .

more shopping and lunch Malt!!! - are you making the most of your pre-T days Smile

Busy'ish day here - having logs delivered this morning, then a friend is popping round to pick up some curtian fabric at lunchtime and finally I am going into the office at 4pm for a meeting Shock. And I've caught a stinky cold off DD so did not get much sleep last night.

I enjoyed Downton last night but won't say anything about it as so many of you have to catch up.

Oh do bugger off George.

Good luck for today really.

Moving furniture around today. My oldest son of 20 is home today so am going to take advantage.

Have lost my walking friend as she is working in Scotland this week . . Don't feel inclined to go on my own.

I logged into work for the first time in about a month. Felt very detached.

Shootingatpigeons · 23/09/2013 11:11

really good luck with the scan, no getting away from the worry they induce but we have a paranoia box to put the worries in. You will find that every ache and pain induces paranoia, topsy has put some interesting ones in there, Cancer of the forehead? However around here we have had many many more clear scans than not and it is far more likely yours will be clear too.

Having a busy few days. Lovely day with two of my closest friends yesterday and now off on uni visits. Was just a uni visit but 80 year old father came off his horse yesterday when she put her foot down a rabbit hole at full gallop and went head over heels. He was knocked out and broke his collar bone. So off to look at him disapprovingly. What do you say? Slow down , you are getting old Hmm That would be selfish as he loves it and has always done it but..... Plus if I am still be around and fit enough to behave like a mad man at 80, I bloody well will too!

HerNextDoorAt21 · 23/09/2013 12:07

Just catching up on about 8 pages of posts ! I really cant get on here at the weekend .... if I can find a computer/phone/ipad, teer is normally a child attached to it !

really good luck for today

welcome to green and donna

favourite bit of catching up on herre was gigs quote "it really boils my piss" hahahahahahahahahaha

No encouraging news from me ..... looks like my freaking boob has popped YET AGAIN !!!!!!!! It is leaking small amounts of seroma type stuff and I know my surgeon is away til Thursday so will just patch myself up and hope for the best :(

Marshy · 23/09/2013 12:51

Popping back on for a pointless ramble.

This is day one of being officially signed off work so it feels very strange not having deadlines to meet and places I have to rush off to.

My plan was to spend time looking after myself to be in best possible shape for imminent surgery, but I'm not sure I can remember how!

Haven't done much today yet, except write myself a list. Oh, and did do a dash up to school to drop memory stick off to DS as he had forgotten it and needed it this morning - I'd usually be a long way away and not able to do that .

Seeing BCN on Weds to talk through reconstruction options before seeing (scary) surgeon the week after. Haven't yet looked at the info she gave me on Friday. Might come back with a few questions over the next few days, if that's ok?

I feel like I'm all take here at the moment

Good wishes to all

kitkat1967 · 23/09/2013 13:27

Hi Marshy - if you don't mind can you let us know how you get on after your reconstrution discusion.

I have a temporary expander in (following mx 3 weeks ago) as couldn't have full reconstruction as was expecting to get Rads. I might not need Rads now so reconstruction could be sooner rather than later (yippee) so i've just started to look at options. My BCN said she would help me and put me in touch with ladies who've had various different Ops etc. but it's a bit too soon for that at the moment. Of course I have started to google a bit and all options look a bit scarey to me Blush even though mx was easy and expanders are also OK.

kitkat1967 · 23/09/2013 13:29

HND - what is it with you and that boob - are you doing too much? Too much partying with Topsy at the weekend maybe? I hope you manage to hang in until Thursday.

Marshy · 23/09/2013 14:05

Will do kitkat

I think I may be in a similar position to you. After good lymph node biopsy result on Friday, BCN said no chemo and probably no rads, so they were looking at immediate reconstruction.

But I'm thinking that any question mark over need for further treatment will only be clarified after they've had a good look at all the tissue post-mx, so maybe a temporary option such as yours may be the way it will go until there is no doubt.

Good to hear your mx and expansion have been ok. At the moment I'm leaning towards an implant, but far from decided yet.

I am so rubbish at waiting and being patient - getting lots of opportunity to practice though!

kitkat1967 · 23/09/2013 14:39

Marshy - it has surprised me how much my path results were different to the interpretation of scans and tests so i guess you will need that to be 100% but I doubt they would offer immediate re-construction if there was a doubt over the rads. You can of course have chemo after reconstruction so it's only the Rads that are a concern (for my surgeon anyway).
I am rubbish at waiting too - I am already on pins as tomorrow I find out whether I can have weekly chemo and when it will start - it's stupid really as it doesn't make much difference in the scheme of things. I am also very keen to further dicsuss rads with onc tomorrow and I wouldn't even have them until after the chemo - but I've just got to know!!
