This might be epic, but am determined to catch up!

Picture yesterday sounds horrid. Shock I'd bet you're still churned up from it, though good to hear your skin's improving so quickly.

Lung fusion, Trice? Confused Doesn't sound nice. Have they given you a guesstimate as to when?

Fight you for Idris, Foofoo and Topsy. Grin

How's the shape, Kitkat? Does it look reasonable now?

Worried, the tide of emotions is a sod and it's always struck me as weird when it chooses to hit. Totally normal if hard to cope with! I do think that's why we're all here though, as it helps to know you're not alone. I still think about cancer every day and I've been clear for well over 3 years. Hmm

Ruby, how are you today?? You were so busy asking about everyone else I don't think you said.

notJ, don't stay away . This is exactly the time to post. At least we can listen and try and help you through x

Hello to Marshy, though sorry you're here. Listen to Amber for she's spot on. It's undeniably terrifying. I was diagnosed in 2010 with a lot of DCIS, with a couple of spots of malignant cancer and it was in a few nodes too. Have had 2 mastectomies, chemo, rads, etc. All clear and living life to the full now and odds are that you will be too. Ask anything you want and let us demystify it all for you - really helps!

MAS, bet you did overdo the swimming. Rest up and give yourself a post birthday lazy day. x

Waving to Kurri, Gigs, Amber, Jane, Malt, Betsy. Must have missed lots. Better get back to work. Drowning in it a bit atm, but all good here. Hope with you all too. Smile

kitkat1967 · 18/09/2013 13:54

Smee - shape is getting better - but all very high at the moment. I got the impression that the bottom of the implant fills out last. Looks dead impressive in a bra though - shame the other side doesn't match up (yet).
If I don't need rads after all i can have the reconstruction sooner and it will be easier so if I get a choice I think I will not have them (depending on stats of course).

foofooyeah · 18/09/2013 14:55

Welcome to Marshy
NJ Sorry you are down. Financial problems are bloody awful.

Just watching fabulous fashionista on 4Od. Amazingly interesting. Recommend it.

Now .... Where is the asterisk on an iPad keyboard. Playing with my new toy.

notJenkins · 18/09/2013 14:55

Aaah thanks you are so lovely as I feel all I do is come in there and moan and don't offer any help for anyone. I haven't even got bc / had chemo so can't share a lot of your stuff.

I am aware the way I am feeling mentally is partly a side effect of being off my meds so it is really bad timing to be going through stressful stuff. Still no resolution yet re the house move. If the move all goes ahead I am never moving again.

Meanwhile I am fighting the hounds for sofa space whilst fighting a bastard bank.

amberlight · 18/09/2013 14:59

Drat re feeling yuk, MAS.
NotJ, more Brew for you too.
Foofoo, not a clue. Wish they wouldn't hide keys all over the place on tablets.

Gigondas · 18/09/2013 15:14

Think asterisk is at bottom of number page foo.

Nj sorry you are feeling crap- I think the physical and mental become very interlinked so hard to separate. Fighting a bank last thing you need at any time.

Welcome marshy .

Am bloody knackered again so had nap after reflexology . Waiting to chat on phone to therapist before I take big gig to ballet. Being knackered not helping my eenergy or mood levels.

Mas sorry you are feeling rubbish .

Hugs to all feeling tired and/or crap

Enjoying last few minutes of peace before ds gets home, day been ok went shopping and then had chilled afternoon watching don't tell the bride
Foo foo I thought that looked good too but have irrational envy of old people at the moment and couldn't watch it.

Marshy · 18/09/2013 15:34

Hi all, thanks so much for helpful and informative comments. Just want Friday to come now sp I have more idea what I'm up against.

Have seen my boss today who has been very reassuring re work, so that's good.

I have a sore throat and tickly cough and of course I'm interpreting that, and any other little random twinge, as a sign of something nasty - am a nervous wreck!

Just giving ds (16) a lift home from school, as i can, being off work and then home to put my feet up

reallyreallyworried · 18/09/2013 15:51

Afternoon all....

Sounds like a rough day for alot of you today. Sending hugs to all who need them. Xxx

Welcome Marshy I know how your feeling, with all the waiting for results. But can tell you that the ladies on here are amazing, and full a great advice and support.

NotJ If you have to stay away due to moaning! Then I would of been banned weeks ago Blush I don't think I have done anything but moan! So please keep posting, we are all having a rough time, and I for one appreciate the fact that someone is always around to offer a caring hug, and a friendly ear Grin

So as promised I am going to share a smile instead of a moan. I spent the morning meeting a friend for coffee! We met at 9.20 and when we next looked at the clock it was 1pm Grin During that time we talked, laughed and had a really good catch up Smile I felt like the old me!

I then went shopping, bought a little something for my bosses to say Thank you for their support. Then came back to house.

All in all a great day. I know it probably doesn't sound that exciting. But after the last few weeks, and how I felt last night. It was amazing Grin

Hope those of you feeling rough, start feeling better soon. Have a great evening all xxxxx

Gigondas · 18/09/2013 16:36

Really that's great you had such a nice morning and went shopping.

Malt I completely get the envy if old people thing - still get it from time to time. Maybe you need a nice soothing look at the orange one who really really loves his kids to calm you? Grin

Waiting on big gig ballet class- special thanks to parent who brought a loud bleeping v tech toy for their kid Hmm.

Mas and other archers fans - you heard latest episode at grey gables yet?

foofoo for asterisk, go onto numbers page then press #+= button on far left, then asterisk is in top row :) how are you getting on with new iPad? I recommend Flow Free it's a free game and quite addictive!

smee I'm not bad thanks. Still feeling a bit run down and bleurgh, I think as I had to stop domperidone to take antibiotics. I'm sure I'll better soon as started back on it today :) how are you?

really very pleased to hear you had such a good time with your friend :)

notJ it is especially bad that the financial stuff has coincided with you being off the meds, I really hope you've won the fight with the bank and that the move goes smoothly. Vent here as much as you need to, you don't need to have had breast cancer or chemo to be here! Being off the medication sounds grim, so it's not like you've had it easy x

gigs hope chat with therapist goes well. I can sympathise with being knackered, it's just so overwhelming isn't it. Is it mini gig keeping you up at night or the aches? Or just general tiredness.

MAS I hope you're feeling better, I think there's something going round at the mo, always seems to be at this time of year!

I slept through the night last night for the second time since my op in November, I think, and definitely since second op in January :) I'm still tired but it gives me home that in the future I won't have to spend half my night in the bathroom! Recovery time from the op is about 18 months so I'm almost halfway there :) plus I got a letter through this morning as my procedure is rescheduled for next week and I've also got an appointment to see my surgeon a week after my CT, much better as thought I'd have to wait for results until my appointment with bowel nurse 6 weeks after CT :)

Waving to everyone x

MaryAnnSingleton · 18/09/2013 17:42

oh I wanted to see that old people/fashion thing...must find 4 OD on my ipad.
Still feeling weedy so will try to rest up a bit- have been to secondary group which was ok,though have found out that lovely and fab onc is going to be leaving (to do more research- he publishes lots of papers and whatnot-which is good, but we'll miss him as he has an excellent manner and is generally a top bloke) poo.
Must catch up with the Archers gig

malteserzz · 18/09/2013 18:03

The orange one is back on Monday with a new series of his reality show gigs Grin
Mas glad the secondary group went ok, glad you're resting up now
Ruby hope you are back to full fitness soon good that youre getting a bit more uninterrupted sleep now though

foofooyeah · 18/09/2013 19:08

kitkat1967 · 18/09/2013 20:10

Hi 665 - it seems to vary from hospital to hospital for how long it will take to get your results. I know some of the ladies here got tests and results on the same day. In my case I had to return 1 week later but the doctors had an idea before the biopsy results came in. Hopefully you should not have to wait longer then a week.
Have you already had a mammogram then and these are follow up tests?

malteserzz · 18/09/2013 20:13

Hi name changer !
I had my initial results which unfortunately did confirm it was cancer within a couple of hours but then had to wait a week for more detailed results

kitkat1967 · 18/09/2013 20:21

sorry 665 I'm afraid I don't know what a non mass cancer is - I'm sure someone will be more knowledgable then me though.

Malt - did you get any winter clothes on your shopping trip?

malteserzz · 18/09/2013 20:49

I don't know what that means either sorry. You could ring Macmillan tomorrow and ask or someone might come along later who knows

Kitkat I did thank you. I had a next voucher to spend from my birthday so got some tops and got a dress from Dorothy Perkins Smile find myself making more of an effort with clothes, make up and jewellery on chemo think it's because I don't want people to think I look ill !

kitkat1967 · 18/09/2013 20:55

ha Malt - that's like me - when I feel awful I stay home but the rest of the time I do make an effort - so much so that most people are shocked at how well I look (which is how I like it Smile).

I also make an effort when i have onc and hospital appointments - not sure why really but for some reason I think they will take me more seriously if I look presentable.
Glad you got some nice things - you've still got a week before you try out T haven't you?

malteserzz · 18/09/2013 21:07

Think it's a need to feel and look normal isn't it.
Yes tax is a week tomorrow, seeing the onc on Tuesday I guess to go through side effects and stuff, dreading it to be honest especially after betsys experience

kitkat1967 · 18/09/2013 21:19

ah but Malt you are the chemo superstar - I'm sure you'll be fine Smile.

foofooyeah · 18/09/2013 21:42

Yes I am taking more care with my appearance too. I don't go out without lippy and eye liner. I don't know why but makes me feel better,

malt don't worry about the tax before it happens, plenty of time to do that If it does and am sure it won't.

Lilymaid · 18/09/2013 21:46

Malt I'm having my 5th Tax chemo tomorrow. My consultants say I look very well. Must admit that I am fed up with the chemical mouth and the continuous slight nausea feeling ... but it has meant that I have managed to lose some of my extraneous weight.
I haven't had FEC so can't compare and can't remember what the bad side effects of both are supposed to be.
Name Changer my hospital did ultrasound/mammogram/biopsy one week and then you go back the same day the next week for the results. But the radiographer who did my ultrasound had already commented that it looked "suspicious" so I was prepared for the worst.
