Mirena Coil fitting tomorrow and dreading it.

I have to go to get the mirena coil fitted first thing tomorrow morning and I am dreading it to be honest.
I've was told to take paracetomol or ibruprofen before I go and I have heard that it does hurt. Any advice would be greatly appreciated?

Had two. If its v uncomfortable make fists and put your hands under your bum to lift your pelvis. This made having the second one removed painless
It's not a great experience but I got 8 years of hardly any periods or pregnancy worry so it was a fair exchange. I'm going to get a third fitted soon I reckon

Dont worry, for me the bit that hurt the most was measuring depth of uterus before they put in Mirena. When they inserted it, was fine. I spotted for 6 months but I was not going to let the fucker beat me. 9 years on, 3 rd Mirena going in next year. Is awesome. Good luck. Changed my life.
