Has anyone had a neurectomy?

Hi, I'm booked in for a foot neurectomy and have been told it will be very painful... I'd be really grateful to hear anyone else's experiences as it's come along quickly and I'm nervous!

Forgot to answer the question: I'm realising that the ten minutes really amounts to a loo trip, getting a drink for children, tidying something quickly in every hour, considering how long it takes to do everything now, so I don't think I've gained as much activity time as I'd imagined!

What sorts of activities are you managing to do, out of interest?

Sorry I'm going to break to record for number of posts in a row (killing time before going to bed). Realised I didn't answer your other question: today I've kept mine above heart level,
on top of four cushions, but not at night asleep.

Glad the pain is better today feetstreet. I've been pottering about today and a trip out to big tesco. Just realised that my foot is not hurting! Hope this carries on tomorrow. Have felt sick and dizzy though which may be a side effect...

Grin to your new fashion statement footle! As if the white compression stockings aren't enough! (Everyone has to wear those, right?). Those activities sound like the right level of excitement to me. I've been taking little walks along our road and back just to get my heart going, which has been exhilarating.

Sorry your medicine seems to be making you sick and dizzy, even if they're stopping the pain, jchoc. Are they for taking long-term?

Grin at the fashion statement! I'm only taking naproxen for 4 weeks and gp was emphatic about not taking them on empty stomach. I'm half way now. Hoping that they will do the trick but if not will get a referral from gp.

jchocchip · 19/08/2013 00:14

Gp did say they might make me sick and he could give anti nausea if req. I'll see how it goes tomorrow.

FeetStreet · 19/08/2013 09:43

Yes, of course Footle. Oh that sounds tough, jchoc. I hope the nausea improves as four weeks of it is unpleasant. But the naproxen could fix your foot for good?
