You all out there? Pop this way!

OP posts:
Copthallresident · 18/05/2013 17:35

Do you think we could sell our stories to the Daily Mail, I'm not sure if they have these in their list of things that give you Cancer Grin

Gigondas · 18/05/2013 17:37

Oh the phone in pocket was also my theory on lump.

We are better than daily mail on here.

Will be on my own watching Eurovision tonight as not sure sicky mr gig in mood.

Copthallresident · 18/05/2013 17:38

Coorong the bruising thing isn't woo just my extrapolating of it. It could well be, Royal Marsden see so many women that it is well within the experience of the Consultants there.

Gigondas · 18/05/2013 17:39

I think we could copt- I am practising my sad face for pics.

KurriKurri · 18/05/2013 17:45

OOh I want to join in with woo theories Grin - I have had a car accident (although it was about ten years before the cancer) also earlier today DD pointed out that all my shingles are on the right side of my body, the side I had my tumour, so that is significant (not sure why - because I have a rubbish right side???)

Weirdly in the month before I was DX I got a really nasty spot between my breast in the central cleavage area, that wouldn't heal up, and when my surgeon saw it he sort of poked it and said 'what's that?' I don't know if it was connected or just a spooky coincidence

I do think there might be something in the injury theory though - bashing the cells might make them start growing oddly (sorry to bamboozle you all with my technical medical jargon GrinGrin)

coorong · 18/05/2013 17:48

I have wondered, because mine started with pain ... my friend was treated as Marsden - ... I think she was very happy with treatment - that was several years ago, and now has a 2 year old!

Copthallresident · 18/05/2013 18:39

Yes coorong more than happy with treatment, so many of the trials etc. happen there, and Dr Geek my Surgeon and Oncy both very famous for cutting edge stuff

"He is on the steering committees of a number of national training courses, and is on the trial management committees of national and international studies in screening moderate- and high-risk women, the intraductal approach to breast cancer and neo-adjuvant endocrine therapy. His speciality and research interests include sentinel node biopsy, risk reduction mastectomy, duct endoscopy, and oncoplastic and breast reconstruction surgery."

Geeky but quite handy! Bless! I have a lovely scar Grin

He is actually really very little, always a bit of a shock when I get off the examination couch thingy and his eyes are level with my nipple Grin feels like I should look up to him.....

gigs Oh Yes "Brave blonde Julie Christie lookalike Copt age 39 ...battled... gruelling....inspiring...sacrifice...candidate for Mother of the Year.... etc. " Grin

malteserzz · 18/05/2013 18:55

My mum keeps asking me where my BC has come from, I'm sure she thinks it's the pill or coil
Have downloaded a book to my kindle tried to find something v light so it's called guess who I pulled last night lol . Hopefully no references to anything depressing. Going to hide my phone tonight and read instead if I can't sleep

Gigondas · 18/05/2013 19:05

Comfort reading is way forward. I reread jilly cooper malt . Also nancy Mitford and georgette Heyer.

thegreylady · 18/05/2013 19:48

I reckon mine was because I was advised not to try to bf my dd as I had blocked milk ducts on left side [where the cancer develped 30+ years later].

AshokanFarewell · 18/05/2013 19:48

Wah :( I have a definite cause for my cancer so won't be featured in the article. I have to say it doesn't help in the slightest to know why I have it!

Hope Mr gigs feels better soon.

Just getting ready to watch Status Quo on lottery results show then Eurovision Grin

MAS how's baby rook? My mum saw I'd liked a photo of him on Facebook and was very excited.

Hope everyone is having a lovely evening, so many posts I have no hope of replying to all!

topsyturner · 18/05/2013 20:12

Ooh Malt if you want some laugh out loud , easy reading . Try Janet Evanovitchs , Stephanie Plum series
DH barred me from reading them in bed cos I kept snorting Grin

13 year old DS is watching Eurovision in his room , and all his mates are watching and chatting to each other about it on line .
Don't know whether to be proud or worried GrinGrinGrin

Ooh and little chocolate pot thingies .

malteserzz · 18/05/2013 20:13

Hi ash, bet it doesn't :( how are you doing ?
We're watching bgt then eurovision
Go Bonnie !
Always get sad at this time in the evening wonder if it's tiredness
No alcohol tonight

Gigondas · 18/05/2013 20:15

Almost certainly tiredness malt.

I would imagine the skimpy outfits may appeal topsy.

Mr gig recovered enough to get to sofa and watch Eurovision too.

Gigondas · 18/05/2013 20:17

Watching France - this is quite normal Saturday night viewing .

Think no booze when down is a sound idea as Copt is right . Chocolate and snacks are good tho..

malteserzz · 18/05/2013 20:29

I have snacks and tea, may have chocolate later x

Gigondas · 18/05/2013 20:32

Big gig just appeared with a nose bleed... She is now transfixed by Eurovision and I can't be arsed to put her back to bed.

AshokanFarewell · 18/05/2013 20:52

Not been that impressed so far but did like Estonia and Malta. Waiting excitedly for Greece. Russia quite sweet and cheesy :)

malt I'm good thanks, just very tired and sore bottom Blush how about you?

I'm counting down to end of chemo now, 9 weeks on Wednesday and the last week doesn't really count as it's the week off at end of cycle. Exciting and scary in equal measures I think :)

gigs hope big gigs nose is okay now.

topsy I remember doing the same one year, just wait a few years until he's at Eurovision parties drinking Grin

Copthallresident · 18/05/2013 21:02

Little Copt just commented they must have found the least beautiful woman in Russia Blush, used to trophy blonde Nikitas with legs to necks in red light districts of Asia, clearly need to talk......

Copthallresident · 18/05/2013 21:03

We liked Malta though apart from eyebrows, imagine if your doctor had eyebrows like that........

malteserzz · 18/05/2013 21:08

We're still on catch up so whizzing through them, probably best way to watch Eurovision ! Estonia best so far Malta is on now he's very smiley !
I'm physically fine thanks ash, emotionally not so good will be glad when I get to my op
Oh we're on Russia now ! What time does it finish ?

AshokanFarewell · 18/05/2013 21:11

Netherlands win prize for most nonsensical song so far! Hmm

malt bet you're counting down the days too. It finishes at 11.15pm but on song 14 ish out of 26 at the mo so actual singing probably finishes about 10.

Copthallresident · 18/05/2013 21:28

Romania surely has it in bag, they surpassed all Eurovision melodrama.... poor Bonnie having to follow that with just, erm, singing

malteserzz · 18/05/2013 21:28

Just watched bonnie I wasn't very impressed thought she mimed really badly. I hope the 9 weeks goes quickly for you Ash :) the thought of chemo also scares me I'm such a wuss !

trice · 18/05/2013 21:46

Loved Romania. If they don't win there is no justice.
