My other thread died a bit so I thought I would try again. Has anyone had cosmetic surgery? Tummy tucks and boob lifts in particular?

Kidstrack2 · 10/03/2006 23:25

jambuttie my friend had a reduction on 1st december, at the Golden Jubilee Hosp in Clydebank, it went very well and her recovery was 4weeks before she went back to work

jambuttie · 11/03/2006 07:27

kidstrack i cant wait to get rid of these lumps. I will be done at st johns Livingston as soon as I have shifted the extra pounds

alliebaba · 11/03/2006 08:28

oh jambuttie well done for losing the weight. you'll probably lose another stone from the reduction. my sis has the same problem. she needs to lose another stone.. she's 5"2 and a 34JJ bless her. she has no feeling between her shoulder blades.. can i be rude and ask how much it is costing?

Kidstrack2 · 11/03/2006 09:08

allie my friends was done through nhs, as it was seen as medically needing done because of the pain etc

jambuttie · 11/03/2006 15:52

hi allie

I am having it done on nhs hun. was assesed by surgeons feb 05 and it wads then they said i needed to be 12 stone. so still battling on to get to that target

sansouci · 11/03/2006 15:55

I'm having my breasts reduced on March 27th. Our health insurance is covering it, which is apparently very rare. Can't wait. They'll be half the size they are now. I've been dieting like a maniac to get my weight down for the op & have lost 1 stone so far. Nothing from the breasts, though.

mykidsmum · 11/03/2006 15:55

I had it done on NHS last year Jambuttie, best thing I ever did

mykidsmum · 11/03/2006 15:56

I tried to go through health insurance before NHS agreed Sansouci, and apparently it is normally a no go as they refuse to remove healthy tissue

sansouci · 11/03/2006 15:59

I had some trouble with galacteria & surgeon says my breasts probably have some cysts. They are so heavy & floppy that I wear a bra 24/7 & have been doing so since birth of dd (almost 6 yrs ago!)

mykidsmum · 11/03/2006 16:03

I t really is quite life changing, sad as that sounds! The difference it makes to your posture etc is unreal, I've even started going running, was impossible before. Good luck with your op and make sure you rest after, and its probably not going to be as painful as you expect! Honestly i was shocked, because although I was in pain, it wasn't horrendous or anything, start taking Arnica now!

alliebaba · 11/03/2006 16:06

thanks all, i'll tell her that poor thing. she's soooo top heavy

Hi,

Kidsttack2. Last friday! How are you? I'd love to have a tummy tuck - three (almost) 10lbers and another one on the way mean the skin on my tummy is gross and not to mention the stretch marks. How is the pain? How able are you to get on with family life? Where did you get it done and how much was it (if thats not too noisy)?

Wishing everyone well and a beautiful body.
