My other thread died a bit so I thought I would try again. Has anyone had cosmetic surgery? Tummy tucks and boob lifts in particular?

hi cattyb, my ds was 9lb 2oz and that was nearly seven yrs ago now i then had my dd nearly 3yrs ago however she was a smaller baby, but the damage was already done to my tummy with ds. I have had my dp looking after me and the kids all this week and my MIL will be looking after us next week when dp is back at work, however dd will have to go to a childminder in week 3 of my recovery, buts thats all been prior arranged. Pain wise i'm not too bad, first 3 days were the worst, i was in hosp for 4nights, it cost £5623 that was including my first consultation fee of £100. I must say though it is the best thing i have done the results are fantastic and there will be no more jelly belly, or tucking the skin into my jeans etc

jambuttie could you try slimfast for a week then just sensible eating for 3 weeks, my sis done slimfast with quick and good results if you done it that way that would be 12lbs lost

jabberwocky · 11/03/2006 19:44

thinking about having my teeth bleached, does that count? And, at some point would love to have a little laser resurfacing done on my face Grin

Lilliput · 11/03/2006 21:49

So who has actually paid for a boob job? If I could get my boobs lifted I reckon I could live with my tummy.

I had my boobs reduced 5 years ago, from 34G to 34B. I found it all really painless and recovered very quick. I had it done on NHS after waiting for total of 2 years from my first GP appointment.

ShaysMummy · 11/03/2006 22:15

i had a boob job but the nhs paid for it!!
bloody lovely! :o

not lovely at the time tho, i was 15. :(

jambuttie · 12/03/2006 08:36

Oh i so cant wait to be able to buy lovely girly bras instead of parachutes.

Kidstrack the slimfast one is that a shake for breakfast, 1 for lunch and normal dinner?

what about snacks in between does it have to be slimfast bars? or can I just have fruit?

Kidstrack2 · 12/03/2006 18:10

yes jambuttie, now slimfast have a whole range, of snack bars/meal bars and soups, they didn't have all that when my sis done it, but yeah if you wanted to you could have a shake in the morning, a meal bar or soup or shake at lunch time and your evening meal about 600cal and have fruit in between for snacks, its a really good method if you can stick to it, its all about will power i suppose and a goal/aim, which you already have, good luck

Kidstrack2 · 12/03/2006 18:11

p.s laughing at you parachutes, maybe what they take from you they could give to me, i'm a mear 34a shhhh

jambuttie · 12/03/2006 18:54

i will get them to send you the removed boobs hun no probs.

must warn you though you will have back ache Grin

peanutbutter · 12/03/2006 19:24

i also had a breast reduction on the nhs a few years ago (i'm 33 now). It hurt like hell and the scars are still quite ugly BUT it was without doubt the best thing i'd ever done for myself. Really wish i'd gone to my GP sooner.

jambuttie · 13/03/2006 08:27

really peanut butter that sore.

see my neck and back are suffering now and i cant wait to have them reduced. keep pushing myself for these last 11lbs and it aint happening just yet.

I never used to be this heavy was a slim chick pre babies

peanutbutter · 13/03/2006 20:17

well, it's a lot of surgery to undergo jambuttie, there's no getting around it, but the hugely pleased feeling you experience every time you look down at your nicely sized chest makes it more than worthwhile. I would spend ages trying on tops and dresses just to see how great they looked without my big boobs shoved in them. Just thinking back to that now makes me smile. It's 10 years ago that I had mine done and they're bigger (and bit saggier) now after putting on weight and having a baby, but they're still a lovely shape (they were big torpedos facing directly south with my nipples sitting on my waistband before the op, and had been like that since my late teens). It's true that everyone recovers at a different rate, but I'd just caution you that I was a fit 23 year old and took 2 weeks off work to recuperate - boy what a bad decision; not nearly long enough.

louise35 · 16/03/2006 22:21

Just a follow on from my previous post. Mine have also sagged a little bit due to putting weight on then losing it but they still look perfectly natural and my scars are virtually invisible. I had to laugh when I read about your parachute bra's, I have kept my G cup bra and I can remember after I had my reduction my party trick was to prove how big my boobs were before by putting my old bra on my head, the cups fitted over my head perfectly like a little hat. You could probably make a nice catapult from mine if you wanted to fire some crown green bowling balls at someone.

louise35 · 16/03/2006 22:25

PS, I actually took the full six weeks of work as instructed but to be honest could have gone back within a couple of weeks, but as other people have said, everyone recovers at diferent rates. I remember being a bit scared beore having mine done as someone who had it done before me gave me a right old horror story about being in agony and screaming all the way home in the car every time the car went over a bump, I can honestly say that I could have driven myself home if needed. Maybe my experience was the exeption to the rule but I'd have it done again tomorrow without a second thought.

tanyac · 27/03/2006 04:31

Yes,

I had a breast augmentation....and paid for it..fantastic!

angelp · 27/03/2006 08:34

Has anyone done anything for wrinkle lines? Have really bad crows feet but not sure whether botox would work there. Has anyone heard of caci non surgical facelift? Is it a load of rubbish?
