Supposing you immac'd your face...

I'm not suggesting that any of you have hairy upper lips or chins, but supposing you did, and you immac'd your face, would you expect to be hair free, or would you be rubbing your stubble right now?

I thought immac was supposed to leave you smooth?

Maybe you should just let it grow and then sell it for wigs when it gets long enough. You could make a packet! Grin

Threading is the way to go Hecate, IPL is great if you can afford it.

I also have a slight Magnum P.I tash, you have my sympathy.Sad.

TwllBach · 08/08/2012 19:26

Hecate do you mind me asking when the hair growth started and how you were diagnosed? I went to the OOH doctor for something completely unrelated this weekend and had to lift up my top so she could get at my chest. I hadn't plucked my 'snail trail' for a while and she suggested I get checked out for PCOS. I also have blanket coverage from my pubic hair, nipple hair, beard hair and a moustach FFS. Sad

HecateHarshPants · 08/08/2012 20:09

Oh, years ago.To get a diagnosis, I had to have a scan and tests, and of course, the full beard and moustache and more spare tyres than the michelin man were all big clues Grin

I've got massively high testosterone levels. I was prescribed metformin.

I've also had a number of ruptured cysts. SO painful.

Oh hecate, you post love. Have you tried electrolysis? It's cheaper than laser treatment (in that each treatment costs less but you need to keep going back for ages) and it's permanent!

Getorf, I read that as 'pubic' threading - wouldn't want that I'm the middle of debenhams & OWW!

ThePathanKhansWitch · 08/08/2012 20:24

Hecate, can you talk to your GP about IPL on the nhs?.
If the hair is dark and your skin is pale it works really well. I had it done years back on Wiggo like sideburns, they have never grown back.
The hair on my chin and tash, however looks dark, but is in fact auburn (that'll be the Irish in me then) so never worked.

HecateHarshPants · 08/08/2012 20:33

Upthread, someone mentioned they won't do it if you've got PCOS as it won't work. I don't want to spend all that money if there's doubt. I bet they wouldn't give me a refund or anything Grin I've just googled it here and it seems like it's not that successful if you've got pcos I have more chance of getting my gp to prescribe me weed than IPL Wink and it's just so expensive if all it's going to do is slow it down a bit, which means you'd just have to keep on and on and on paying.

I wonder if this should be moved into health, since it's gone from a general grooming thing to a health issue.

What about the cream Vanquix is it? Do you know I just don't understand why this hasn't been sorted by the Science Men/Women. So they can create a blue pill to help the aged/limp but not so much, what for some women is a crucifying infliction.

Thought of this thread yesterday.
A scene from our house yesterday morning:

DP is shaving beard (a rare occurrence).

I make a big deal out of this to DS (3.9) "look, daddy's shaving his beard! All the hair is coming off!"

DS: "you look like mummy, daddy". I think I know what he's getting at, I attempt to change the subject.

DS: "you have a beard mummy, like daddy!"

Me: "Shhhh!" Blush

I tried Immac-ing my face many years ago. It seemed to work and I had lovely smooth skin ready for a date with a new boyfriend that night.

During the evening, my face felt rather hot and he kept telling me I looked "well".

Thankfully he didn't stop over that night because the next morning my face was a huge scab. My "wellness" had been an allergic reaction where my face swollen up (probably smoothing out my wrinkles).

On the plus side, when the scabs finally fell off, I was left with glorious new skin.

I think I'd given myself a very cheap acid peel Grin
