WTF Something just came out of my vagina!

I have been having stabbing pains in one side of my abdomen. I had bled unusually early for me over a week ago. I have the coil in and normally go about 8 weeks. This was more like 4! It went on for a week maybe and then stopped for a few days. Then I got pain and a little more bleeding for a day.

Pain again today but only briefly. Now i went to loo again, wiped myself and this little thing came away with the tissue! It had a little blood around it on the tissue. Looks like skin but with blood obviously running through it and has two little bumps in the middle. The top and the bottom of it sorta curl like a sea horse tail.

WTF!?!

Are you ok Melted ? You dont have temperature or pains or anything iffy ?

If you do , over the next few days you should get properly checked .

Its sounds like an early mc.

MeltedChocolate · 07/02/2012 21:16

No, I am fine. Thank you :)

My lower back is aching, probably down to nerves and thinking about possibility of MC, and my nipples are tingling again which they have been on and off for ages and I have been ignoring if I am honest.

I am really hoping this is some sort of skin or lining of vagina or something else. I don't want to feel guilty (??) for having an MC

but I keep coming back to - I have not had actual intercourse, I have the coil and it is not an old one, it was only once. I mean, what would be the statistics for that?!

choux · 07/02/2012 21:20

If you take a pregnancy test it will still be positive I think.

Tingling nipples? Did they start after the liaison you described?

ameliagrey · 07/02/2012 21:22

Sorry Sad but this sounds typical of an ectopic pregnancy- the pains you had on one side would have been the fertilised egg and the matter you expelled the tiny embryo.

Coils do not always prevent fertilsation- they do prevent implantation.

Don't panic but you should see your dr to check the coil is still there and in the right place- mine had half dropped out and I was bleeding for 3 weeks.

droves · 07/02/2012 21:23

Never ever feel guilty for having a mc .

Id also get your coil checked .
I know someone who got pg because her coil had moved....Sad

lubeybooby · 07/02/2012 21:24

I think it sounds more like a piece of cervix, maybe the threads are rubbing where they shouldn't. Either way though please get properly checked out

windsorcastle · 07/02/2012 21:24

melted I hope your ok, sending hugs. Keep us posted.

ameliagrey · 07/02/2012 21:26

lubey- your cervix does not drop bits off it, and the ends of the coil are soft- they would not cause this.

OP do a PG test and arrange to see your GP.

PG can happen from foreplay- have you not had any sex sice the coil- or even before it?

PoppadumPreach · 07/02/2012 21:29

ok i'm sorry for going a bit off piste here but was the guy a trusted partner? is there any chance you could have been given a date rape drug.

i'm sure the answer is "absolutely not, f**k off Poppadum", which i will entirely deserve to be told, but just wanted to make sure you could rule that out.

hope all is ok and sorry if i seem inappropriate/blunt.

MeltedChocolate · 07/02/2012 21:29

No I haven't had any sex for two years Amelia. Coil is about a year old.

MeltedChocolate · 07/02/2012 21:30

Pop - he is, no chance of date rape drug, I don't drink

OP posts:
PoppadumPreach · 07/02/2012 21:31

phew. despite how it sounds i'd be really, really surprised if you had been pregnant.

MeltedChocolate · 07/02/2012 21:32

Well he's not a partner. Atm he is just a friend

OP posts:
MeltedChocolate · 07/02/2012 21:32

Well that's what I keep thinking Pop. So so so so so unlikely!

OP posts:
ameliagrey · 07/02/2012 21:33

I think you need to accept that a coil does not give 100% protection- it's about 98%. Sometimes sadly, conception can occur but miscarriage results as the coil stops embryos implanting.

It is possible to get PG with foreplay- as many teenagers have found out!

it only takes 1 sperm- and if you are very fertile that is what could have happened. Unlikely, but not impossible by any means.

ShagOBite · 07/02/2012 21:37

OP, hope you're OK. If it is a miscarriage, you must not feel guilty. You have nothing to feel guilty about.

Sorry for thread hi-jack. This has brought back something I have blocked out for years.
I had an early period (was on pill) and something not dissimilar to a small chicken fillet came out of me. I freaked, wrapped it in my knickers and binned it. No embryonic features, but too big to be an undeveloped foetus with no limbs I would have thought. (2-3" maybe?)
I should have gone to the doctor, shouldn't I? What do you think it was?

MeltedChocolate · 07/02/2012 21:38

Shag I heard of this on another forum. The woman had taken it to doc and they sent it away for testing. It was placenta.

OP posts:
ShagOBite · 07/02/2012 21:39

Oh? I'm confused.

MeltedChocolate · 07/02/2012 21:40

She said Doc said it was an early miscarriage and placenta had developed some and it was passing out of her body.

lubeybooby · 07/02/2012 21:42

Coil threads are made of iron oxide, they are not soft at all by any stretch of the imagination and stabbed my exdh's willy a few times making it bleed. I had a mirena and the threads damaged my cervix. Not irreparably, but still, it can and does happen

MeltedChocolate · 07/02/2012 21:42

Choux - yes I think they did.

OP posts:
MeltedChocolate · 07/02/2012 21:44

Lubey the guy said mine scratched him!! Maybe that's what's going on?!

OP posts:
ShagOBite · 07/02/2012 21:45

Oh I see. Thanks. Well, I've had kids since so can't be so bad that I din't go to the doctor, fortunately!
