What the title says really. like a thread inside pulled too tight. No lump or anything like that. I leaned forward drying myself after the shower and really noticed it in profile. What do you think?

I think it's good you noticed, and to put your mind at rest get it checked by your GP. Smile

dustyhousewithdustypeople · 25/01/2012 20:44

Definitely need to get that checked.

Littlefish · 25/01/2012 20:51

GP as soon as possible.

2old2beamum · 25/01/2012 20:55

PLEASE GET IT CHECKED,THIS IS FROM SOMEONE WHO KNOWS.Don't mean to scare you it may be nought but you must be sure. Please let us know,

FelicitySpendAll · 25/01/2012 20:56

Ditto, needs checking. Ask for a referral to a breast screening unit.

SilentMammoth · 25/01/2012 21:04

But there is no lump or anything, I'm only 31. No family history. Am |I being silly and overreacting?

Sparklingbrook · 25/01/2012 21:13

No, you aren't. You have noticed something different. Please make an appointment tomorrow.

cheekychubster · 25/01/2012 21:17

Cant emphasize enough how much you need to get an appointment and get this checked. No lump doesnt mean no problem.
Please, from personal experience make that appointment and goodluck.

OneInEight · 25/01/2012 21:18

Don't want to panic you but please get this checked asap. I spotted a dimple too but could initially feel no lump. GP wasn't sure but referred me for breast screening and unfortunately I was diagnosed with breast cancer.

2old2beamum · 25/01/2012 22:12

Poor you we are not nagging we just care x

Sparklingbrook · 25/01/2012 22:13

You were concerned enough to post on here so please make the appointment. We are all here to hold your hand.

Valpollicella · 25/01/2012 22:14

Please go and get checked.

Could be absolutely nothing at all. But any changes in your breast or nipple need to be seen to.

FelicitySpendAll · 25/01/2012 22:26

I had breast cancer surgery last year - successfully - and I had no symptoms at all and am fairly young (40s). They caught it at a routine mammo. One of the visual checks the doc did was to look at my breasts for dimpling as this can indicate a problem.

Of course most lumps are benign. But you MUST get it checked out.

ReneeVivien · 25/01/2012 22:28

Dimpling is one of the signs we are asked to look out for, right up there with lumps. Don't panic, but please do get it checked asap.

KurriKurri · 25/01/2012 22:40

Dimpling is one of the symptoms I had when I was DX with breast cancer - I couldn't feel a lump, neither could my doctor - because it was so deep in my breast.

It could well be caused by something else, but always get these things checked - you aren't over reacting. Young women do get breast cancer, - don't want to scare you, but do get checked - it's worth it for peace of mind alone.

Elibean · 25/01/2012 23:22

Absolutely right, please get checked out.

At the same time, don't panic - I started noticing 'dimply' areas on my breasts in my 30s and they were just stretch mark type stuff, nothing sinister. But it was not just one, obvious dimple - hard to describe.

A clear dimple must be investigated, please go and get seen asap - worst case scenario, you get treated fast, best case scenario you get peace of mind Smile

MaryAnnSingleton · 26/01/2012 07:42

please do go and get it checked- it might well be nothing but you absolutely must ! x

JoantheFennel · 26/01/2012 07:44

31 isn't too early for breast cancer

Sparklingbrook · 26/01/2012 09:08

Morning Silent. Have you made the appointment yet?

MaryAnnSingleton · 26/01/2012 10:49

if you feel anxious about the gp appointment (you must go) pop over to the tamoxifen thread for a hand hold- we have all been through similar experiences and are proof that you can get through these things Smile

Sometimesiwonder · 26/01/2012 14:42

Another vote here for a visit to the GP. I had no lump, only a tightening and change of shape - my surgeon told me that in this scenario there is ALWAYS something causing the pulling effect. That doesn't have to be cancer, of course, but by the same token it isn't nothing at all. You need to find out what it is, so you know if it needs dealing with or not. Good luck!

SilentMammoth · 26/01/2012 17:58

The thing is, it's really subtle but I can see a difference. If I lift my arms above my head the outer bit of my breast sort of pulls in where it should be sagging out iyswim, and looks a tiny bit lopsided. If I feel it I can feel where it goes in, then out again. Not sure if that makes any sense. I'm just worried that my dr will think I'm insane because it really isn't that noticeable. DH away for ages yet (deployed) so can't ask another bod to have a look. I will make appt.

Silent no GP worth their salt will dismiss you outright. You need a referral to the breast clinic under the 2 week wait.

It may be " fuss over nothing" but you int know till you've had a thorough round if scans etc.

Sparklingbrook · 26/01/2012 18:11

Can anyone go with you Silent?

SilentMammoth · 26/01/2012 18:22

I'd rather go alone tbh. I don't mind!
