Is everyone well again?

My Ds stayed with my Mum for the school holidays and then came home with me on Tuesday ready for school on Weds. He was well, Dd and I weren't so I have kept her home, still treating her conjunctivitis and Ds went to school...he came home from school yesterday full of aches and pains, headache etc. I have kept him home today (again) and am taking both of them to to docs this afternoon. I didn't bother with an appointment for me as I felt guilty taking an emergency appointment up, but now wish I had :(

So Dd has been ill with just a few odd days reprieve for 4 weeks, Ds for 5 weeks, but was well for a week inbetween and I, somehow have only had it for a week! if you exclude just having a sore throat.

I wonder how much longer this is going to go on. I'm almost expecting the school people to knock on the front door demanding that I explain the Dc's school absences :(

We're entering week 4.

DS (7) developed viral pneumonia from it. I have never seen him so ill!!

Sick of it now, sick of seeing him poorly, sick of our synchronised coughing, sick of the lack of sleep and well, just sick of being sick.

It has to end sometime, doesn't it?

DS has had a bad cough for several days, which involved into slight wheezing last night. I was fretting a lot but sent him off to school anyway (he can walk and talk fine).

I was afraid to ask for advice about it on here in case I got crucified for not rushing him off to A&E .

Luckily at toddlers was an acquaintance who works for NHS-Direct -- I collared the poor woman, described DS and she said it sounded pretty typical, not to worry too much about, slight wheezing to be expected given he had had the chronic cough. & outlined what would be indications of him needing to see a doctor. She said that the majority of her recent calls at work have been about coughs & colds.

Now I just have to X my fingers that none of the rest of us gets it.

I live in stockton calif. I ve has this miserable virus for 2 months now . Saw my doctor. Got antibiotics , nothing . I wake up twice a night soaked with sweat . I'm normally in great shape , but can't walk more than 10 steps now without taking a break .I've missed alot of work, been back to the doctor for more antibiotics .I can't breathe .the cough is driving me and everybody around me nuts . I get into the cold air and can't top coughing. TakING mucinex, stronger antibiotics , nothing, I m having trouble coughing up the crap in my lungs. I often choke on it and start throwing up. I just want to get over this.. it's terrible

I've just been diagnosed with whooping cough, despite my jabs being up to date...
