i must share this experiance

when i was 15 i weas ill (tonsilituus and karyngitus made me completly loose my voice for over 6 months

I had seen th4 speicailist had speech therapy etc and my voise was jus NOT cming back....

my speech therapist had another speeech therapist friend who worked in a different hospital and she agreed to see me in my local hospital....

so off i went to hospital.... i was hypnotised etc and then i was not properly woken up

i mean i was SOOOOO tired, i slept almost constantly for a week. I simp,y could NOT be awake... beyong the odd trip to the loo, or to have a quick drink i slept the whole time...

one time i went to the kitchen to get a drink... i didnt evn make it to the kitchen.... fell asleep again in my dogs bed

After a week my mum called my speech thearpist hypnotist who rehypnotised me and this time did wake me up....

within 24 hours i could talk again.... so it did work, but (OMG) i would NEVER be hypnotised again...

this was also a MEDICAL PROFFESIONAL in a hospital... not some one in their front room dontforget!

I had a few sessions of hypnotherapy (which the lady also described as relaxation and self hypnosis), for a phobia of hypodermic(sp?)needles.
They were excellent. Really helped with my fears.
As others have described,it was very relaxing - like being almost asleep, but also focussed and "self aware" if that makes sense.I was also given a tape of the hypnotherapist to use at home which was great, as I could practice relaxation techniques at home between sessions.

My dad had hypnotherapy about 15 years ago to help him give up smoking. He had been an 80 a day man . It worked for him!

I gave up smoking after seeing one several years ago. He took loads of history down, had a long chat about why i smoked etc. Then he hypnotised me- it was absolutely the best feeling. he used what i'd told him during the session. I was totally aware of him at all times.
Left and went to visit a friend who smoked and it didn't bother me. Giving up was soooo easy with the hypnotherapy
