TC - I have spent the evening winding myself up looking at how successful they are, but do you know what? out of all of them, I'm the only one with children Shock

These people are the same age as me - I can't have had children that early, surely?

Bitter you'll do it, whatever you want it to be.

The one person whose life I really Envy is never on facebook, too busy living their fab life I spose.

There was another classic from one of my Uni mates last night, along the lines of "XXX is back from a wonderful holiday, thankfully there is another one planned for a few weeks time".
Funny how she never mentioned when she was made redundant and was very low and down about money/career etc. People don't, as a rule.

I am still waiting to do something fabulous again, am sure we can make it happen. For now I will chuckle at the spin.

well....when I had DS 6 years ago, I remember reading that the average age for having first child was 29, I suspect it's gotten older since then, due to student debt etc. oddly enough, one uni friend who did have kids I managed to fall out with Confused.

Lizzy - that sort of status update would irk me. feels a bit in yer face. posting photos of all your travels - fine - I have a friend who is a single professional who has loads of holidays to nice places - I would never resent that at all, her money, her interests, her choic - but boastfulness - yeuch.

I have had a lot of - you must be mad jacking that job in - over the years - does my head in tbh. I had my reasons, some of which mental health wise I have no wish to disclose to all and sundry.

In more trivial news - I'm now under 12 stone, woohoo!

Alicetheinvisible · 17/08/2010 08:59

Woohoo Total!!!! Well done you Smile

Morning everyone Smile

I was saying to DH the other day that sometimes i look and think i am wasting my life. I don't work, i don't have any relevant qualifications, i also have no ambition now. When i was younger i was going to do 'stuff' I wanted to be famous at what i did and at a time there was a chance of obtaining that. Now nothing. I have a comfortable life, with a fabulous DH, soon to be 2 dc, a mad cat and 2 horses and i am very lucky, but still some days it gets to me.

There is a very bad smell wafting from small child that i really must deal with, excuse me....

Total, funnily enough a lot of people in your old field seem rather desperate to get out! Which doesn't help me Hmm

That friend's status was actually worse than that, but didn't want toget outed. It is par for the course with her, she has always been the same. I just snigger tbh.

The ones who have the most and are happiest don't feel the urge to boast I find, so I don't get envious.

We are all in control of lives, we just need to make the best of our talents, grab good fortune and cope with humungous curve balls along the way. Some of us may have had our curve balls already, for others they may still be to come.

Look at me, all philosophical on a Tuesday (or spouting shite, you decide Grin).

bzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz!

double - bang on re:humility. v. important to learn how to take compliments ime, and not to self-deprecate constantly.

lizzy - around the time I was working legally it was quite a boom time for personal injury litigation and property - no win no fee, credit hire/RTA, etc. whereas now - apart from insolvency and commercial disputes I imagine that departments are less busy, so less dosh, so less happy places to work.

We are all clean and dressed, and the DC are fed. Does that count as something to boast about?
