*Not to mention her outfits. The number of times I've seen her sitting in parliament with her tits hanging out as if she's going to Magaluf. Hardly appropriate.
We already have a bad enough reputation without wheeling her out.*
In the name of the wee man… You’re right, she should be in a habit and wimple.
What’s embarrassing is the people here who can’t accept achievement if it doesn’t take a traditional form, who can’t accept someone who doesn’t speak the way they think they should, who can’t recognise that many people simply don’t have the opportunity to go through school and university, who think the way a woman dresses affects her competence.
Is the problem that she got pregnant young - are we judging her for something that happened decades ago? Maybe some here would have preferred her to have an abortion so she continue with school, university etc.
Boris hid in a fucking fridge, lied to the Queen, and could barely string an articulate sentence together, Liz Truss had the communication skills of a 5 year old. Rishi Sunak couldn’t understand the most basic of international convention and courtesy. The “establishment” has hardly served us well much less minimised our national embarrassment.
Maybe the issue is that some people just can’t bear the idea that a working class woman, with a young pregnancy and a chaotic upbringing has the audacity to take a place in government. She should know her place and stay there. Funny how we want equality of opportunity, but only for those we deem deserving, and who will fit the mould we think they should.
She’s an absolute inspiration for every young person whose life chances are impacted by adversity, who don’t have the stability and security so many here take for granted and who need examples of how you can succeed despite a very challenging start in life.
