Just a few days left to go let’s see where mumsnetters are at! Sorry for the limited options.

Interesting that so far this MN poll seems to tally with much larger polling!

Squidthing · 30/06/2024 11:35

Bumping for MN votes, I'm invested.

Whu · 30/06/2024 16:33

Sunday evening bump!

Im with others in that i would vte labour if it wasnt for the womens rights / self id etc
however i did a quiz and my thoughts apparently alligned with (in this order) Green, lib dem, reform, labour, tory 👀

so im wondering whther to spoil my ballot or vote labour and sacrifice that one area for the others i agree with

Who the hell is voting for Reform, you might as well vote for the BNP.

The racists. There's a lot of them unfortunately

MrsSkylerWhite · 30/06/2024 23:27

Labour. As will the majority, thankfully.

CT84 · 01/07/2024 16:21

I’m still undecided but I’m amazed to see that Labour is still so far ahead on what I assume is a women dominant group (mn). With women fighting so hard to be heard over the years and with labour policies around women’s right and single space I was shocked to see so many still voting for them.

No, it doesn’t work anymore
Just branding us racists and shutting down the debate.

You'll have to come out of your echo chamber and actually engage properly with what’s being said.

Hm. I've had experience. But thanks for your input.

nomoretoriesforme · 01/07/2024 20:16

@Farting Absolutely agree with you.

jf1992x · 01/07/2024 20:17

I'll be voting Reform, after voting Labour since I was 18 (32 now). If that automatically makes me a "racist" and whatever else without hearing my opinions and knowledge, then so be it 🤷‍♀️ I think there are going to be A LOT of very shocked people (particularly on MN) when they see how well the party does!

LegoTherapy · 01/07/2024 20:18

I can't see any figures on the app and can't vote either. The reform numbers are depressing. No, not depressing, bloody alarming.

Well, a lot of things that have been said by Reform candidates are racist...

I appreciate that Reform voters think immigration is too high but, if we cut immigration to net zero, it's going to massively increase the tax burden on working people (and that burden will get exponentially larger as our population shrinks and becomes increasingly old).

Reform are all grievances and no solutions - in fact, they just cause more problems.

If Reform got into power then I have little doubt that they'd immediately renege on their economically illiterate "contract" but why give them the chance?

Locusteater · 01/07/2024 20:25

I just don’t think I can vote for any of them. Thought about voting for local independent but I’d be wasting my time.

OhWhenWillSummerArrive · 01/07/2024 20:29

Either;

Tactical vote for LibDem to go against our Conservative MP

or

Independent candidate who seems really good

Probably going independent

For the Lib Dems.

In a seat where only the Lib Dems or the Tories can win.

Who are you voting for poll
allaboardtheplaybus · 01/07/2024 20:33

Fuck knows.

Never voted Tory in my life. Totally pissed off with labour and their reluctance to commit to BIOLOGICAL women's rights.

I did the voting for policies quiz which was bloody pointless as I came out 33% each tory labour and green!

Bloom15 · 01/07/2024 20:33

Labour or local independent

Someone's going to be your representative in Parliament on Friday.

So what about looking at who is predicted to win, and if you're not happy about that then look at who is predicted to come second. If you'd prefer them instead then chuck them a vote.

What issues do you care a lot about other than the GC stuff?

What about doing the voting for policies quiz on a selection of them and seeing how that comes out?

There is no shutting down of debate. I spent way too much of my evening yesterday on another thread listing all the racist things that Reform candidates and activists have said. Farage spent his school years praising Hitler, taunting Jewish students about ovens and delighting that his initials are the same as the National Front - racism is baked deep into his character and he's made a career out of stoking it in others.

I listed the comments made by George Jones, Andrew Parker, Edward Oakenfell, Leslie Lilley, a candidate whose name escapes me but referred to black people as savage. There were two other candidates who have previously stood for the BNP. Then there's Liam Isherwood who has just withdrawn his candidacy because he is appalled by the widespread racism in the party and Farage's lack of action. Those are only the racist scandals this week in Reform, it's not the sum total - just the ones that have happened in the past few days.

The racist comments were unequivocal - these are people who have stated that they think black people are stupid savages.

I absolutely do not have the energy to argue about it again but the only people trying to shut down debate are Reform supporters who can only say 'don't call us racist' but can't offer any explanation for all the overt racism displayed by Reform members. You just don't like people drawing attention to it- but it's there for anyone to see.

Well said.
But to be honest I don't think reform and their candidates are too bright....

The Reform members I listed are not very bright - they're people who write openly racist filth online and then stand for parliament. I don't think that applies to everyone who wants to support Reform, but some people are deliberately ignoring some really horrific stuff coming out of that party and it's hard to understand how anyone can ignore or justify it.
