You see.

This thread shows you that not just are the iphones good, but that it actually becomes a marriage, they are welded to your palm, never to be left, never to be ignored, always to be adored.

I think it depends on whether you feel you can fully commit to that relationship

bratnav · 10/09/2009 18:19

cariboo, well 32GB is a lot, DH has the 32 and he hasn't filled his with music and this is a man who had to ask his parents to take 8 boxes of CDs when we moved house. I have a 16GB and have more than enough music to keep me going. HTH

cariboo · 10/09/2009 18:23

Blackberries are equally as lethal for marriages!

Be aware that once you get the iphone you end up not only having music, but applications (you can get TomTom for iphone!) and video.

I actually have a TON of video on mine. Several feature films and entire series.

Get as much memory as you can afford. You will fill it.

RubberDuck · 10/09/2009 18:25

Oh, and I can recommend Handbrake to rip your DVD collection to your computer

McDreamy · 10/09/2009 18:25

I have a light sabre

bratnav · 10/09/2009 18:28

a light sabre?????????????

where can you find those??? tell me tell me tell me please

SomeGuy · 10/09/2009 18:30

DW is not keen on hers as she says it keeps hanging up if she puts it to her ear. We recently had it repaired and she wasn't sure if she still wanted it.

She does seem to be use it quite a lot to check Facebook however.....

EyeballsintheSky · 10/09/2009 18:30

I told you how many thingies you needed You told me not to take the piss!

Wanderingsheep · 10/09/2009 18:31

I lurve my iPhone! Especially since I can mn on it.

I really didn't think I would, but it's fab!

McDreamy · 10/09/2009 18:33

Tis a star wars app. It's free, totally useless but fun! Think I just searched for it on apps!

Pielight · 10/09/2009 18:46

(he's gorgeous Bratnav! Just gorgeous - the photos aren't a bad quality either )

WebDude · 10/09/2009 18:54

LOL @ "iPhone lovers united"

Will be interesting to see if the monopoly of service from O2 will be broken soon... Vodafone can sell them in 11 other countries, and Orange/T-Mobile selling them in various parts of Europe.

France banned locking to a network, so you can get an unlocked one over there.

(Oooops, sorry but I'm not that bothered either way - maybe when they're 50 quid with a tenner a month contract in a year or two.)

twirlymum · 10/09/2009 19:06

I've got so many apps on mine (loads of free ones!) and there are some great games that ds (2.6) can play.
Also, some totally useless/useful fun stuff (light sabre, around me, urban spoon, compass etc).
And facebook of course
You can also use it as a ipod.

cariboo · 10/09/2009 19:10

eyeball, you just mocked me for not knowing the difference between mega bites & giga bites! [whine]

RubberDuck · 10/09/2009 19:19

"You can also use it as a ipod"

AND as a phone... allegedly. Can't say I use that feature often myself

Podrick · 10/09/2009 19:24

My friends who love music do not love their iphones. If this is one of the prime things you want to use it for you should buy a different phone.

i mainly use mine for web stuff and I LOVE it!

MitchyInge · 10/09/2009 19:29

I love my iPhone! It's the new type, 32gb and already full - however as an iPod it is a bit annoying so I'm glad I hung on to my iPod touch. I wish it would charge in the Bose thing but it doesn't, and you have to switch it off as a phone if you want to play it in the car (via a transmitter or whatever). Am especially impressed with the camera on this new one, it's heaps better than before.

MitchyInge · 10/09/2009 19:30

Insure it though - forgot to say how much more fragile it is (than the older ipod touch), mine slipped out of my pocket and barely skimmed the floor but the screen shattered.

SomeGuy · 10/09/2009 19:38

They do cost at least £400 as well....

RubberDuck · 10/09/2009 19:47

Hmm, I use mine for music... well... all the time. No complaints and I used to own an ipod touch and an ipod nano.

MitchyInge: get a case for it and screen protector. I can recommend the Incase Slider as pretty and functional.

cariboo · 10/09/2009 19:50

mine is at 20% of RRP since renewing phone contract for another 2 yrs. (sigh - no such thing as a free lunch)

OP posts:
Corporalcornsilk · 10/09/2009 19:53

I can't be faffed with mine. Have barely used it.

Pielight · 10/09/2009 20:02
ReneRusso · 10/09/2009 20:03

Mitchy, if you get a parrot handsfree kit then you can play music in the car and also have the phone working. Mine does charge on a Bose thingy too, says its not compatible but then charges anyway, but maybe it depends which one.
