anyone installed iOS 8 yet?

Tell me all about it! ipad stuck restoring itself from backup at the mo so I can't do anything

The iOS 8.1 update hasn't worked any magic on my ipad2. So I'm still seething. . I can't usually even cut and paste text which is bad when I'm MN'ing My iPad is also still freezing and glitching all the flippin' time.

ITS REALLY REALLY IRRITATING. . Basically, Apple have broken my iPad.

Btw I've tried everything to fix it. I wish I could take them to the small claims court

Small claims court, you say??? I am FURIOUS. Small claims court isn't enough!!

I won't be buying another Apple product. It takes a font of patience to get even this message posted, so bad is my iPad.

Lurking. Do you have an iPad 2 too? Up until I 'updated' (ha!) to iOS 8 I should have been on Apples paybook. I have apple everything and used to crow about how I understood I was overpaying but that nothing had every gone wrong with any of my devices ever. My iPad had never played up once blah, blah, blah. I feel betrayed by Apple.

...and now, it's ruined. I'm reasonably techy and I've done everything to get it to work but it's still as glitchy as hell. I can't even do long posts on MN anymore as it freezes all the time and I can't copy and paste.

I did a backup, full factory reset and a nice fresh new download of iOS8 and it didn't help at all.

I HAVE TRIED EVERYTHING.

Yes AskYourself, iPad 2. Like you, I was an Apple devotee, thought they were so clever and intuitive, could do no wrong blah blah blah. I got that one wrong!
I can't be bothered to MN much anymore because my iPad is so glitchy. I wonder has this iOS 8 fiasco made a difference to forum traffic?

And my friend also did a full back up and factory reset and nah, iPad still crap. The techie guys in my local techie shop told her it probably won't recover, her hard drive has been 'damaged' by iOS 8! I don't know if that can happen but that's what they said to her.

Mine cost me well over £500, I got the biggest memory and, even though I use it all the time, it hasn't got a scratch on it.

It really does make you wonder how such a huge and successful company can be so incompetent or so dishonest
