Really recommend Alice In Wonderland....it's a great interactive books in two lengths, shortened and unabridged, and the illustrations move....great for reluctant readers etc

AWimbaWay · 05/10/2011 18:51

Where's my water. Way more addictive than Angry Birds. Love Pictureka too

RubyrooUK · 05/10/2011 20:07

Dunno about kids as I try and deprive my DS of my iPad. But I loved "Tales of Monkey Island" (a new sequel to the old Monkey Island series) and "Back to the Future". I love adventure games and those were fun.

kennythekangaroo · 05/10/2011 21:23

Moonfell wood, awakening, any hidden picture game by big fish for me. Romi (like rummikub), pluto music.

DD(4) loves paint sparkles, cookie doodle, join the dots and pocket phonics (really helps her letter formation).

Jacanne · 05/10/2011 22:27

Tiny Tower - it's a free one and I find it very addictive.

Furball · 06/10/2011 07:03

thicko alert - I couldn't work out how to play tiny tower

It just seemed to run in the background without anyone doing anything to it? Can you fill me in on what you have to do Blush

Furball · 06/10/2011 07:06

RIP Steve Jobs Sad

VivaLeBeaver · 06/10/2011 07:56

BrigitBigKnickers · 06/10/2011 08:14

Toy balls- totally addictive

StillinMyPJs · 06/10/2011 10:16

If you're looking for educational apps, go along to a4cwsn.com/apps/

Although the website is called 'apps for children with special needs', 'Appydad' (I believe he is called) has done video reviews of apps that encourage development too so you can check them out before you buy.

My personal favourite is Injini, very expensive but just great.

stitchthis · 06/10/2011 11:59

wordpress, instamatic, pininterest, trainline - all used everyday....

stitchthis · 06/10/2011 12:00

sorry, instagram. doh. also Spotify - genius.

Dilan · 21/11/2011 08:58

As a mother, I am very selective about the information, which my 4 year old son gets exposed with. I understand a good app should offer a combination of both play and learn.

NatEdwards · 06/12/2011 15:55

My three year old and I always sit down together to watch 'Louie' on the Cbeebies channel. We've now downloaded the iPad app which is ideal for teaching him the basics of drawing, writing, etc.

Good fun, creative and educational. So we're both happy!

Graciana87 · 17/12/2011 12:02

The iPad is becoming a very useful teaching tool in the classroom because of the many educational apps that are being created that can be used by students. One of the new and exciting apps that has been developed for the iPad is the animated adaptation of Alice in Wonderland created by Atomic Antelope called ?Alice for the iPad?. Alice for the iPad is a wonderfully illustrated version of the classic book ? Alice in Wonderland. It sets the standard for what a really remarkable educational ebook should be.

HoustonPrately · 30/12/2011 09:35

I think you can go ahead and check Duck duck moose apps for this age group. For older ones, I would suggest downloading puzzle games. There are tons of free ones. If you have tried Tetris or Bejeweled, it might interest you to know that there is a better option for these ? StarFaces ? certainly one of the best iPad app . I had played this game on my iphone for a while and now I have it for ipad and its great! Love the photos option.

Thanks

My two and four year old love these 3D Interactive Pop Up books, Grimm's Rapunzel (which is Free) and Hansel and gretel, etc They have activities and games within the story, they're brill.

They also love any drawing apps on the ipad, problem is ipad getting wrecked from them and I can't get near it

CCC393 · 18/01/2012 20:56

My 14 month old loves the books by Sandra Boynton, Moo Baa La La is a personal favourite. For Mums, especially pregnant ones try Baby Trivia - totally addictive!

ja99 · 08/02/2012 16:39

thanks for that recco CCC, no longer preggers but have tried Baby Trivia during newborn night feeds & it's keeping me entertained... and awake ;) For my 2 year old all the Duck Moose ones are brilliant, she's learned all the words to Incy Wincy Spider & the Wheels on the Bus from those apps

hillyhilly · 10/02/2012 12:31

Tozzle is fantastic, even my 7 yr old will still play. Though it's more for preschoolers.
