Is this a fair price for tree stump removal?

It is quite embedded and has been there for decades. I want to remove it so I can plant a row of hedges. I’ve been quoted £225 which seems steep. I’m in a posh part of the south east.

Well that's too cheap to be reputable with all insurance, machinery, labour and tax included never mind qualified arborists and their CPD.

£80 to cut the stump off underground but not totally remove it...but
£350 to remove stump altogether
It was a cedar tree (tree itself was removed 6 months previously)
Wales for context

I’m in the SE too and that’s a bargain, in my experience.

We have been quoted £150 per stump for removal. Large mature trees. That is with us disposing of the stumps.
