A proper greenhouse. And I would get the border done properly at the front so plants have room to grow as it is currently a shallow border on top of compost.

Someone to come in, rip out our old fence and put in a new one to match the one we've put in on the other side.
If there was any money left then an arch to go over the path for the wisteria to be trained over. Maybe some plants. Or lots of strulch to mulch all my borders.

A big shed, new fence and furniture

Robot mower
Automated watering system and more water butts
a gardener!

Proper drainage so I don’t get pooling water every time it rains, which turns the gravel green. A water feature.

GCAcademic · 02/08/2026 23:28

Some huge tree ferns.

A wooden gazebo and seating as there is very little shade apart from in the wooded area.
A wildlife pond.
If there was any money left - a potting shed

I probably spent £20k on our very small garden over the last 6 years. It doesn’t go far! Wooden greenhouse, patio, trees. I’d like new garden furniture that’ll withstand the north west weather. I’d like 2 new paths to replace the stepping stone in the grass ….and a bigger pond. And a water feature….

After this weather - about 18 more water butts

Sauna and outdoor (cold) shower

A tree surgeon for the two massive trees at the end of the garden
a garden designer for one specific part of the garden
a pomd that looks like it is coming from under the patio area.
and new patio area

thats probably more than £10k though!!

A summer house and one of those rattan day beds.

I love sitting in the garden to read and listen to the birds etc.

Owninterpreter · 03/08/2026 07:58

One of those gazebos that gas a roof on slats that you can close for rain. They were about 5k at the garden centre and thrn a replacement tree for the front as the one we have has died, some new fencing.

WyrdHag · 03/08/2026 08:01

I could redo my whole garden for that!

New fencing on one side and a new back gate.

Raised beds either side - veg garden on the left, cottage garden on the right.

New turf

Small shed

Area immediately behind the house resurfaced

New garden furniture

Ngl if there was enough leftover and I could make space I'd probably get a small hot tub

If I had the kind of money that allowed me to spend £10,000 on my garden, I'd probably go for a gold waterfall, only instead of water there would be a cascade of pound coins and fivers.
