Can't wait for the tulips to flower

applecatchers36 · 22/03/2025 20:22

Rosemaryandlavender1 me too! All the leaves are up and I noticed in the park too, exciting time of year so much to come!
We are enjoying the cherry blossoms and have had also had a few hyacinths up so far...

AnneKipankitoo · 22/03/2025 20:34

We cut down 3 cherry trees. One did flower beautifully but I did not take photos. The birds left it alone and thankfully it was not too windy so it looked fabulous for a few weeks.
( edited to add , the one left was in a different part of the garden and was a different cherry)

We had a lovely show of crocus this year (much better than last year when they hardly came up at all).

Were the cherry trees diseased? Sounds a shame to cut them down.

Rosemaryandlavender1 · 23/03/2025 10:22

Has anyone's tulips flowered yet? Mine haven't and I thought they would by now.

They were a bit close to the house. I think they were not great either.

I am in a tree preservation area. We have to get permission to trim, or remove trees. The council are not that bothered if the trees are cherry trees.

Mine are just coming up in my mixed lasagne pots, @Rosemaryandlavender1

probably about another week to flower, especially if Wed will give us the promised warmth and sunshine 😍

I have had a closer look and I can see the buds hidden amongst the leaves so hopefully soon now.

Yes, primula vulgaris mostly

Rosemaryandlavender1 · 02/04/2025 16:52

Spotted this beauty just relaxing in the garden today. It was quite large and stayed peacefully fluttering despite how close I was to it 😍

There's been lots of butterflies and bees which makes me so happy.

applecatchers36 · 03/04/2025 22:30

Lucky sighting Rosemaryandlavender1 haven't seen any yet..

Sweetpea1532 · 27/04/2025 07:14

My mum is visiting from the Southern East coast US. She wanted to buy a bouquet of flowers to perk up the dining room. I surprised her with these geraniums from my garden instead. I think there are at least 4 different varieties in this bouquet..not sure which, though. The geraniums this year have gone crazy even without much rain.

The azaleas were blooming when I was visiting my mum a few weeks ago. They are extra colourful this year!
