Terrible Customer Service - Screen With Envy

I just wanted to share my experience about Screen With Envy.

This company supply unique composite screens and fences for your garden. We ordered over a £1000 worth of screens and fence posts.

We have been left very disappointed with their customer service. Ordered u channels to be used with our fence on the 9th April and its still not arrived. When contacting their customer service was told it would be dispatched twice but it has not been sent. Contacted again on Friday and they said it would be sent out on todays deliveries . Order didn't arrive today and now being told it is out of stock and will be for weeks.

I have asked to be contacted by a manager since Thursday and still they have not go in contact with me. I could hear the staff in the background laughing when I requested the manager call.

Extremely disappointed with this company. I thought that with it being a family run business it would have taken better care of its customers.

Do they have an online presence? Criticism on twitter or facebook tends to focus their minds on finding a solution.

The owner is a MNer as well, so I’m sure it will be sorted if you make contact. Social media is always good

Did you manage to resolve this? I'd been planning on ordering from there but yours isn't the first negative experience I've read unfortunately.

I’m glad I saw this thread as I’d been considering buying some of their screens for our gardens and won’t bother now

I had also seen some very worrying reviews when looking for my new garden fence, and people claiming that they had been waiting months put me off completely. However I did find an alternative company called Charlesandivy.co.uk where I bought some beautiful garden fence with decorative screens. They delivered a few days after I ordered and the quality is beautiful too.

Similar experience, avoid at all costs. Money taken, nothing delivered, no response from customer service or emails, lies about giving products to courier companies (no records at the courier company - just a ploy to buy time), no response to cancellation request or refunds. Weeks turn into months.

Only way to recover money is from your own bank or PayPal.

To be fair I think this may be a courier issue. I say this because I knew someone with similar issues. They kept dispatching and they didn't turn up. All of a sudden 3 of the same order came at once. Thats of no benefit to the company as they have essentially given out two 'free' orders so I cant imagine they were at fault here.

I know a couple of people that have worked there (it is local, so much for “small family business”) and the only thing they screen is calls… It’s awful, they were made to delete negative comments and nothing was ever actually in stock in the warehouse so they were told to blame couriers and Covid!!

I'd add to uk.trustpilot.com/review/www.screenwithenvy.co.uk if you've bought through them - it looks like a lot of other people have a similar experience but those that did receive their items rated it as excellent so it still looks mostly ok from the 4* trustpilot rating.

I think there is a general supply problem with a lot of stuff originating in China. I ordered screening which I was informed would be delayed months, a kitchen stool - likewise - and apparently kitchen cupboards/doors/hinges etc are not getting through.

However, it does behove a good company to keep customers informed, and not just hold onto their money in the hope that the goods appear.

Can’t comment on Screen with Envy but just reiterating what @IrmaFayLear has written - there are significant delays in items coming from abroad, particularly China. I ordered garden furniture from a company in March for delivery in July. They emailed yesterday to say it would be delayed by 6 weeks due to supply chain issues. I have had the same bad experience buying from Screen with Envy, they took the order and money in April 2021 and an email with a fake link to a courier informing us of the order being despatched. The order never arrived and we are not in July! after many phone calls and emails and completing the cancellation form, we are still waiting for them to refund the money as we do not expect to receive the goods. This was disappointing as their products (screens) look beautiful and I think they have a market for their products but they do not have a business strategy that will succeed. During calls, you are fobbed off and a request to speak to a manager was never followed up with on their end. We do not want to resort to taking this to a small claims court but may well have to. I would advise to not order anything from this company as you will loose money and very likely never receive your order.

I've also had terrible experience with screen with envy
I have lost count of the calls and emails I have made.
I don't think supply is the issue as much as a terribly organised company.

Dreadful company. Screen with Envy have stolen £1674 from me. PayPal believed their lies and let them keep my money even though I provided proof that I had refused two deliveries that were returned via PDX. Still fighting on though😡

Still battling to get my money from this shambles of a company. That's from the beginning of June. My poor reviews on Trustpilot have all been verified as I can prove that they have taken my money.....all £1674 of it. The bank's Fraud Team is involved now after PayPal believed SWE's lies. Please read the reviews on Trustpilot and iO. Not the INVITED ones. For every negative review there are a slew of made up ones, all posted at the same time. It would be funny if it wasn't so serious.

I so wish that I had read genuine reviews about this company... after a lot of consideration we opted for composite fencing with installation..... we were led to believe that it would be delivered and installed the same day within a couple of weeks...... the fencing came in a few days with no sign of installation date...I have emailed numerous times and have had various replies all from different people.... I'm at a loss at what to do now as I have this fencing in my home causing an obstruction and no idea of when they will fit...I have asked them to refund my installation fee so I can get another company to fit it....I can't get someone to fit it until they refund my money...... but my feeling is that they are not going to deal with this for quite a while...... so very disappointed with this company...

There's a whole Facebook group dedicated to their poor service. They have a horrific reputation. I'll see if I can find the group.
