Just having a new fence put up and due to have it painted. I like the look of the Muted Clay shade. Does anyone have this? Any other recommendations? Thanks

Looks lovely so far. Will you please post a final picture?

MargotLovedTom1 · 08/09/2018 15:17

I like the Muted Clay, but then I'm biased because I have it!

Bluesheep8 · 08/09/2018 15:53

Thank you all for taking the time and trouble to read all this and for offering advice and posting pics. honestreally will certainly post pics when It's done (rained off yesterday) margotloved muted clay was where my instinct took me tbh as I thought it matched the interior of the house, s one of which is f and b skimming stone and I think that muted clay is the fence paint equivalent! I like it but just don't feel it's right for this bloomin' fence unfortunately as there is so much greyish stone outside.

Have you got some plants in pots you could put in front of it to see if it sways you a little

TheSassyAssassin · 08/09/2018 16:48

So satisfying to see a garden beginning to take shape. Think it will look lovely when you're done Blue Smile

Bluesheep8 · 09/09/2018 06:58

chishandphips unfortunately not, no plants yet. Well we did have some but they became lunch for the sheep! Hmm

@bluesheep8 how did the fence turn out, just being nosey really Grin

Bluesheep8 · 11/09/2018 06:15

Hi justgotobed thanks for your interest, painting has been rained off for the last few days, unfortunately. Frustrating as yesterday was dry even though rain was forecast. I will post a pic when it's done. Although we nay end up doing it ourselves at this blooming rate!

I'm intrigued to see how the paint will stick if its already been painted. I had a job second coating on a hot day.

Oh that's very smart, it will look lovely with some plants, Smile

Bluesheep8 · 13/09/2018 09:55

justgotobed Yes I'm hoping so. I really like it but it looks a little stark at the moment...plan to put lots of plants in and I think they'll provide a lovely contrast and really stand out. I'm pleased I went with that colour now Grin

Much better than the previous colour, but I am biased :-) I bet you are well pleased.

TheSassyAssassin · 13/09/2018 12:04

Looks lovely Smile

Bluesheep8 · 13/09/2018 12:10

Thanks for the interest and responses! --userxx yes I'm pleased with it and thanks for your help with colours. It fits well with the greyish stone and I bet it'll weather nicely and look as though it's always been there

I have urban slate on my fences and it is looking lovely 6 months in. Plants look amazing next to it as the greens and the flowers seem to pop out from the fence. I was worried as i originally had dark brown but i love it

HonestReally · 13/09/2018 15:59

Looks lovely ❤️❤️

Bluesheep8 · 13/09/2018 19:13

Thanks everyone for your opinions, as I said at the beginning of the thread, this is all new to me as the outside has never been a priority since we moved in and has had to wait it's turn. That's why I'm trying so hard to get it right and show the outside as much love as the inside. Gardener is going to bring some top soil and advise on planting next, then we have to start saving to have the back done in the spring

chishandfips thank you...I'll be on here asking for advice about plants next. Not in the least green fingered but want to get it looking lovely...

Well I like it so much I started painting my fence the same!

Bluesheep8 · 18/09/2018 06:29

fantails pleased to have inspired someone! It's lovely and somehow has a very slight sheen to it rather than flat matte. Have had lots of positive comments from passers by.
