My garden is looking very green and vibrant today.

I can see:
Apple blossom
Camellia (although the flowers are starting to drop)
Forget me nots
Lungwort
Hellebores are hanging on
Euphorbia are doing their limey green thing and perking up one corner
Bluebells
Chaenomeles

What can you see? And what region are you in? (And I might nick your ideas Grin)

Aquilegia
Azalea
Rose (Gertrude Jekyll - smells gorgeous)
Wisteria
Alliums
Perpetual Wallflower

Oh, and dandelions!

PigletJohn · 21/05/2015 23:37

two more roses in bloom today.

I am surprised at all those blooming peonies, mine have plenty of buds, but only fingernail sized

Sunny south.i

prepperpig · 21/05/2015 23:41

Masses of rhododendrons, camellias are on their way out. Lots of bluebells (with pink and white ones scattered throughout) and wild geraniums. The magnolias are starting to flower too. Its looking very beautiful.

prepperpig · 21/05/2015 23:47

I'm particularly pleased with the rhododendrons. We had some large trees taken out last year and this year the rhododendrons have gone mad in terms of flowering. They obviously like the extra light.

prepperpig · 21/05/2015 23:48

oops I'm in the east midlands.

PheasantPlucker · 22/05/2015 08:50

Peonies def not out (but back garden - where they are - is less sunny than front)

Our lavender is almost out.

funnyperson · 22/05/2015 13:05

magnolias are well over here .peonies in pin sized buds.

PheasantPlucker · 23/05/2015 09:38

Lavender is out, since yesterday!

PlainHunting · 23/05/2015 12:14

New in flower today:

Kniphofia
Laburnum tree
Poppies
Sedum
Geraniums (perennial sort)
Many, many, many aquilegias
Honeysuckle
Dog rose

PigletJohn · 23/05/2015 16:58

couple of Aquilegia opened today (shaded spot).

Do dandelions count?

TheoreticalOrder · 23/05/2015 17:38

We are South East and only one rose out so far, masses of lavender buds but all green for at least a week or two I think.

June is the month here. I just adore the mass of roses and lavender.

TheoreticalOrder · 23/05/2015 17:41

Re peonies - 1/4 out here.

Tell me what is flowering in your garden today.
PlainHunting · 23/05/2015 21:26

Peonies almost out here (Mids) but roses and lavender at least a week or two away from flowering yet.

PlainHunting · 23/05/2015 21:28

Dandelions everywhere here too (spent hours digging them out today). Far, far more than other years. I wonder why?

PheasantPlucker · 24/05/2015 08:03

I agree - dandelions are everywhere!

SugarPlumTree · 24/05/2015 11:10

We had a mass outbreak of dandelions a few weeks ago but better now.

New bloomers are alliums, geranium elke, strawberries, red geum and clematis Samaritan Jo plus a pink hardy geranium.

Bedding plants are in so nicotiana, ageratum, celosia, cosmos and pelagoniums.

My one peony flower not yet out.

funnyperson · 24/05/2015 15:41

Peonies, irises, fuschia, clematis all out in mums garden. Some late flowering parrot tulips and euphorbia there too.

funnyperson · 24/05/2015 15:42

All sorts of hardy geraniums, valerian, osteospermum azaleas and aquilegias are out there as well.

digerd · 25/05/2015 09:50

SE.

My climbing roses are late this year but on further investigation yesterday, discovered quite a bit of Mildew.
Neighbour's Rhododendrun is also blooming late as when mild it often blooms in January.

My Rhodo always blooms in May irrespective of temperature.
Also my early blooming rambler is the only other bloomer atm but very late.
I do have orange poppies blooming profusely but tha's it.

SirVixofVixHall · 25/05/2015 13:58

I thought none of my roses were out yet, but actually the single rose, dusky maiden, has been open for a week or two. None of the "proper" roses though. Gertrude Jekyll is normally out by now but is late this year. No lavender yet either..or paeonies. Just buds on everything. Some alliums are open or opening, other types still in bud. Columbine everywhere. (too much of it). Tulips almost all gone, but there are one or two stately lilac coloured ones. And thinking of lilac my lilac seems to not have flowered at all this year. It has been hanging on by a thread for years, clearly it doesn't like where it is, and now a honeysuckle has smothered it which is pretty but probably not helping! Lots of geraniums are out, the native cranesbill and all sorts of others. I think June will be a blast of colour as many things seem slightly late.

funnyperson · 25/05/2015 16:41

Mme Alfred Carriere has started flowering her socks off here. I am getting the jamjars out.

PheasantPlucker · 25/05/2015 16:58

I walked to the allotment today, past loads of fab peonies in other people's gardens, and a few at the allotment (some people decide to grow flowers and not veg)

Came home to look at ours - and notice that there are no buds! I am very sad .........

funnyperson · 25/05/2015 20:12

pheasant perhaps water it with tomato feed? It is still quite early. Also if up to it you could dig it up and replant more shallowly.

SweetAndFullOfGrace · 25/05/2015 20:22

Our rhododendron hedge is just starting to flower. The lilac has been going for a while as have the acquilegia, lily of the valley and some kind of geraniums, the kerria is on its last few flowers. We have lilies coming out now, and peonies in bud. The forsythia is done, so are the magnolia stellata and the apple tree.

It's a new garden, we moved in in Feb, so it's very exciting finding out what's in it.

PheasantPlucker · 26/05/2015 09:52

Sadly I think they are beyond hope this year funnyperson but thanks for the tip
