Sheffield is a fabulous student city. I am sure he will have an amazing time. Many if the clubs and bars, such as the Leadmill, are congratulating new students to the city and starting to list their autumn term events if he wants to take a look to feel better about his change.
Congratulations to all those getting results, whatever they are. These kids have worked so hard over a very difficult few years. They deserve all their successes in whatever shape they come.
Sorry to those just missing their grades but fingers crossed new plans can be made.
And try to reassure them that new plans WILL work out. Two years ago DD dropped grades and lost her firm. She went to her insurance where she had an unconditional place. Two years later and she's flying and loving every second, even despite going in a pandemic. This day 2 years back started with tears and upset, we sorted it that day but it was so hard. But looking back how the change actually was for the best - she has worked so hard, made amazing friendships and loves every bit of student life, both whilst away and when she is back in our home city with old friends. It will work out for them!
