DS got into Bath with A*AAB. He is unhappy with one of the As but really happy to be into his first choice.

Ds has been to school already. He has distinction star in business. Which we knew already. A history. A RS/philosophy/ethics. He only needed BC for firm. He did say he might try for a better university if he did well. But I am sure he will stick with Sussex.

Good news here, both had texts from Uni saying they’re in, DS hit 120 on the mark, DD added a B to her collection so exceeded her offer

Take some deep breaths and then take over the admin whilst your DC is inconsolable.

You have a few hours to register interest in clearing places - this is often a simple online process or a quick call to an admin person.

The academics then come back later in the day if they need to interview from a short list.

Just do a bit of clearing right now - throw your net wide. Decisions can be made when calmer.

I had to do this with my DS 3 years ago - he was incapable in those early hours of shock. He ended up in a much better situation in the end. Had a wonderful Uni experience (despite 2 years of Covid)

Clearing opportunities also change over the days - so keep hopeful.

Some deep breaths and get scrolling and clicking.

Well that was the most stressful 15 mins of our student life. She needed ABB and she got BBB only one mark of a A on two. We had crying and upset. Then she logged into UCAS and she got Into Lancaster her firm choice so she is over the moon. I am so a happy for her.

Good luck to those going through clearing. It’s very stressful.

UCAS email says uni still considering. So confused. Can’t get hold of York at all. DH now had to go to work. DD has calmed, now searching clearing but only wants York.

We are a bit stunned here. Ds change his CDD in mocks (Biology, Chem and Psychology) into AAB 😮

Delighted to say the A leveller completes the Oxford 3 with 3 x A stars!

We had to leave for a 5 hr drive at 8am. DS was still asleep. So we are sitting here checking our phones going " is he still asleep or are the results so bad he can't face texting yet? "

@Decorhate Sheffield is a fab place to be a student and a highly rated university, hope he can feel more positive, maybe as he sees some of his friends going there?

@Benjispruce4 Lancaster is great for Maths and seemed to be the university which handled student support in Covid years best from the SM I followed. A friend's DS is doing Maths there with very high grades because he really rated the course.
