Anyone in Alverstoke?

Hi (am all newbie and dim, apologies)

DH just got papers for move to Portsmouth posting in March. Tantalisingly close timing for being able to get DD into her first Primary school via "normal" application dates.

We'd really like to live in Alverstoke if possible and apply for her to go to Alverstoke County Infants School. But am hearing that Type IVs there are like gold dust. So, is this true? I need a spy to take a look at empty-house-numbers but I don't know anyone there.

Or here! Hoping this isn't bad forces sweetheart etiquette but would really like a few tips. Never moved before and DH newly promoted too so over excited at thoughts of extra bedroom and porches or whatever!

Cheers all.

Thanks for your help MrsSnaplegs :) sorry it has taken me awhile to respond!

Daedalus looks fantastic :) Would be lovely to live in one of thoose houses, Seafield is coming up as 2/3 beds so that may be out.

I have heard horror stories about Rowner, is it really that bad? the houses are apparently 2 converted flats, which sound odd but spacious :) and i like space lol

Thanks again, i am so excited to be moving there!

Db has just moved to Hants and was told that the MQs at Daedalus were the only ones available and that if he didn't accept it, then he'd have to pay to rent privately as there were no SSFAs, and that there were 10 people after the MQ he had been allocated. He's been appointed to Fleet though, not Collingwood.

The MQs off Peak Lane are convenient for schools both secondary and primary, and it's not too far into Fareham from there.
