What has your toddler / pre-schooler had for tea tonight?

Jojay · 19/03/2010 17:31

Mine ( DS1 3.4, DS2 1.5) have had Bangers and Mash with gravy, peas and sweetcorn, followed by slices of melon, and 5 Loveheart sweets (DS1 only)

Disclaimer: We don't do the sweets part daily, honest

I'm looking for inspiration as I feel like I serve up the same old stuff over and over again.

Due to our working hours, they only eat with DH and I on Sundays.

My DD (4) had chilli and rice for tea today and chicken pasta yesterday

diedandgonetodevon · 19/03/2010 17:35

DS (18mo) hasn't had it yet as we don't eat until much later but it will be chicken & ham pasta bake with veggies.

blowninonabreeze · 19/03/2010 17:38

Egg fried rice with whatever veggies I have left in the fridge, plus pancetta. A big favourite in our house and super quick

morejuiceplease · 19/03/2010 17:39

My dds (3.6 and 1.6) had ham mushroom and cheese pizza, a handful of raisins each and choc brownie for pudding as a treat as they've been so well behaved today.

mamasmissionimpossible · 19/03/2010 17:44

Fishfingers, homemade wedges (wouldn't eat them!), and peas. Yogurt and raisins for pudding.

cktwo · 19/03/2010 17:49

Fish and chips from the chip shop - Friday treat

fruitful · 19/03/2010 17:54

2 bites of a cheese sandwich.

Sigh.

CantSleepWontSleep · 19/03/2010 17:54

Pasta bolognese for tea today.

CoupleofKooks · 19/03/2010 17:54

quiche, new potatoes, bean salad, green salad (didn't eat the green salad)

didn't eat much really!

Wheelybug · 19/03/2010 17:56

tomato pasta (dd1 5, dd2 12 months). Is ballet night so always pasta.

waitingforbedtime · 19/03/2010 17:59

Vegetable ravioli followed by yogurt, grapes, home made fairy cake and a wee bit ice cream

He wouldnt usually have all the sweet stuff but Granny brought them round.

InThisSequinBraYesYouOlaJordan · 19/03/2010 18:00

Shepherd's pie (beef mince with lentils) and tomatoes. It was a frozen left over portion from a bigger one earlier in the month, as he is the only one eating now, as me, DH and DS1 will be eating a takeaway later. He is 2.9.

pooter · 19/03/2010 18:03

6 teaspoons of barley and veg soup, half a corn on the cob, a few bites of potato and courgette rosti and two bites of mushroom and asparagus pie (spitting the mushrooms out)

He eats next to nothing and it is turning me grey. How can he run and bounce around all day??

mysocalledlife · 19/03/2010 18:38

Beans on toast, yogurt, a pear and a glass of strawberry milk.

Pinner35 · 19/03/2010 18:41

DD is 23mo and she had lentil casserole, an apple and a gingerbread man.

nancydrewrocks · 19/03/2010 18:42

DS 3 has had salmon fillet with asparagus and mashed potatoes followed by blueberries and some banana cake.

Have let DC eat in front of TV tonight though....

mummytowillow · 19/03/2010 20:55

Oh dear, I'm so jealous of all the food your toddlers eat!!

My 2.7 year old ate 1 weetabix, two bites of a chicken goujon, ignoring the wedges and sweetcorn and then refused to eat anything for dinner, oh and she had a beaker of milk this afternoon?

How on earth she manages I don't know, she eats like bird!

FourArms · 19/03/2010 21:29

DS2 (3) had a fish fillet with pasta and peas for lunch (followed by a rice crispie cake!) at school - he loves Friday lunches. So for tea he had a kids macaroni cheese ready meal and a cold sausage left over from last night's tea! I had a ham and mushroom tagiatelle ready meal which I used to think was v.yummy. Either it wasn't quite right, or my tastes are changing because it was horrible!

crikeybadger · 20/03/2010 15:46

Friday night is always pizza night in our house for DSs 3.5 and 5. I always make my own base and sauce but cheated yesterday and bought an el cheapo one from s'burys.

They ate the lot with broccoli and green beans and had the cheek to say they preferred it to mine!! They had a smoothie made with full fat yoghurt and blended up fruit for pud. (trying to fatten up the 3.5 yr old!)

JamesAndTheGiantBanana · 20/03/2010 15:58

My ds wouldn't eat any of the above. Feels like he's gone on strike at the moment, all he'll bloody eat is chips, sausages, sandwich ham, sausage rolls, beans, peas, mashed potato, plain pasta, scrambled egg, bread, cereal, fruit and yoghurt. Try making more than two proper meals out of the above.

I'm so fed up with him eating rubbish. I do offer better food but he just will not touch it, and some days all he's really had is cereal and grapes. The other day I served grilled salmon, new potatoes, green beans and salad. Ds just stabbed his food to death, didn't even try any of it, not even the potatoes. Tearing my hair out here.

shinyshoes · 20/03/2010 16:56

my DD is 2.3 and tonight she has toad in the hole (very good quality sausages)
oven chips
runner beans

taffetacat · 20/03/2010 17:29

Last night we ( me, DH, DS6 and DD3.5) had Mummy's Friday night special - Parmesan Chicken Escalopes with salad and caesar dressing. Grapes and yoghurt after.

Tonight we are all having Crispy Duck with extra raw veggies.

At the moment we are all on the sofa watching Harry Potter having some cinema treats ( jellybeans and dried apricots ).
Mmmmmm

OTTMummA · 20/03/2010 17:54

me and DH are having a takeaway later when he's in bed lol. im sustaining myself with some pudding now as im starving!

justallovertheplace · 20/03/2010 17:55

We made a recipe from I Can Cook today, basically peppers stuffed with chicken and cheese. Have never made it before, but was devoured by 5 year old and 21 month old

MarthaFarquhar · 20/03/2010 17:59

chunky minestrone soup topped with some parmesan
toast
fresh pineapple
