Damn, I bought Turkey mince by mistake! What on earth can I do with it!

Obviously bought it on a bad day - I've just found it in the freezer. Must have thought it was beef mince.

But it isn't.

So what on earth do I do with turkey mince?

We love turkey meatballs. Dead easy, we don't even bother with onion. Just mix with your hands: mince, breadcrumbs (about 2 slices of bread), one egg yolk, parsley and black pepper. Shape into balls, firm in fridge if you have time, pan fry off then put into casserole with home made tomato sauce (cook in bulk and freeze portions) and scatter torn goats cheese on top. Bake in oven and serve with boiled rice.

Really healthy and very tasty!

Turkey mince bought by mistake at Morrison’s in their 3 for£10 section

I use it for chilli. It picks up the heat better.

I like turkey mince with a Thai flavours, either as meatballs in a green curry sauce or in lettuce cups

I much prefer turkey mince to beef mince for spaghetti bolognaise. I tend to add extra ingredients to give it more flavour as it is blander than the beef e.g a glug of port, tapenade or pesto.

Stir fry it with some kind of green veg (I like tenderstem brocolli) and shallot, garlic, chilli and ginger. Add soy sauce and a good glug of kecap manis and serve over rice. It’s delicious.

I always replace beef/lamb mince with turkey mince. Much better for you, and, as a PPer said, a dollop of marmite will give it the 'beefy' taste!
