Can I just double the ingredients? And if I do, do I put it in the microwave for twice the time?

Oh, go on. Advise me. Children waiting expectantly.

Would a mug be big enough for double? Can't you just do 2?

stealthsquiggle · 16/02/2009 16:53

Why not do 2?

nkf · 16/02/2009 16:54

I will make it in a bowl? It's just I don't use the microwave very often.

I never tried it, was too scared

lanismum · 16/02/2009 18:39

I so regret ever trying this! I find 1 mug does both of my girls, they come out quite big tho, and my girls are only 3 and 1, just make up 2 in 2 separate mugs and put them in one at a time?

CarGirl · 16/02/2009 18:40

No I wouldn't microwave for twice the time, try for 1.5 times

I just made mine in the measuring jug because it is larger than a mug and it was plenty for dh & I

nkf · 16/02/2009 18:42

I have just made it and now can't move off the sofa.

I doubled everything including time and addded grated Belgian chocolate. And a splash of milk. Blimey, it was good.

I want to buy a microwave just so I can make this cake.

SoupDragon · 16/02/2009 18:43

Link?

nkf · 16/02/2009 18:48

I haven't got the link but it's somewhere on here. But honestly you won't thank anyone for introducing it to you. Just to make things clear. You get chocolate cake within two minutes using cupboard ingredients. There is absolutely no reason not to make it every day. It should carry a health warning.

You are talking to someone who freezes cake in slices so she can have it microwave defrosted to freshly-baked-warmth in 30 seconds...

Wheelybug · 16/02/2009 18:52

oooh this sounds interesting - off to search.

SoupDragon · 16/02/2009 18:53

Already searched

nkf · 16/02/2009 18:53

Soupdragon, this cake was made for you.
Someone will find it.

darn wasted valuable cake making time searching... looks great !

SoupDragon · 16/02/2009 18:56

I have a Gu hot choc souffle to eat first.
It severs 6.
I'm not eating it all at once though.
[gulp]

SoupDragon · 16/02/2009 18:56

serves 6. Not severs,obviously.

madmissy · 19/02/2009 15:54

can you do this as a treacle sponge with golden syrup?

jangly · 19/02/2009 15:58

Yes. You could do it in a basin or a microwave cake baker. Its only like a chocolate pudding. Probably take about 4 minutes to cook. You can cook most boiled pudding recipes in the microwave. Takes a fraction of the time!

MrsBadger · 19/02/2009 16:01

I have been making a non-chocolate, syrup version of this for yonks

best 5min pudding in the world

madmissy · 19/02/2009 17:11

BlueCowWondersAboutPancakes · 19/02/2009 17:15

Mrs B - what's your recipe? Is in files?

EyeballsintheSky · 19/02/2009 17:22

Pleeeeeeeease someone post a non choc recipe. Choc cake is not my favourite and I want an alternative

ThePellyandMe · 19/02/2009 17:26

I've been resisting this cake but I'm really going to have to give it a go.

A syrup version sounds like my idea of heaven.
