Mine are tongue, caviar, oysters unless accompanied by copious amounts of champagne to counter gag-reflex, tripe. Am sure I'll think of some more ..............

Liver, kidney, pate (urgh, urgh, urgh - the whole concept of mushed up meat and innards is wrong)

Miso Soup - smelly socks and a bit of old hay boiled in water would taste better

dinkystinky · 04/01/2009 18:53

Thai inspired rice pudding type dessert - had it at the end of a lovely special meal in a michelin starred restaurant a couple of years ago (.i.e. pre-kids) and was so disgusting it had me running for the toilet!

AndISayHey · 04/01/2009 23:11

Can I add grapefruit and mustard?

Jacksmama · 05/01/2009 04:10

AndISayHey · 05/01/2009 20:40

No

AndISayHey · 05/01/2009 20:41

I hate grapefruit and I also hate mustard (in addition to all the other foods I've already mentioned)

midnightexpress · 05/01/2009 20:43

Lionstar, I actually rather liked kimchee.

Quenelles on the other hand, are an abomination.

As for coriander, I used to loathe loathe loathe it, and then, overnight, I suddenly loved it and can now eat it by the bucketload. Strange.

midnightexpress · 05/01/2009 20:44

oh oh oh, but the most revolting thing I have ever ever tasted was yak butter tea. Oh god, I'm sweating just thinking about it. Boak.

LaTrucha · 05/01/2009 20:46

Fried, congealed chicken's blood.

I kid you not.

My Andalucian friend gave me and my brother some when we stayed with im on holiday. I nearly hurled there and then and it was pretty obvious. HE followed this by saying, 'oh yes, ahlf of us love it and half of us hate it. AND ONLY THEN telling us what it WAS. Bloody hell.Bloody hell.Bloody hell.Bloody hell.Bloody hell.Bloody hell.Bloody hell.Bloody hell.Bloody hell.Bloody hell.Bloody hell.Bloody hell.Bloody hell.Bloody hell.Bloody hell.Bloody hell.Bloody hell.Bloody hell.Bloody hell.

Jacksmama · 06/01/2009 01:09

Lychees and okra - both slimy and unnecessary
coconut
chilli

I like quenelles

ChopsTheDuck · 07/01/2009 11:50

okra isnt slimey if it is cooked properly

Hangingbellyofbabylon · 07/01/2009 11:52

Camel - it tasted like wee. Apart from that I'm pretty well game for anything, specially offal, weird meats and any kind of crustacean.

Hangingbellyofbabylon · 07/01/2009 11:56

Whoah, just looked at the Century Eggs, I think that would push me over the edge. I'm sure I saw a documentary where people where eating boiled eggs except the egg contained a nearly full grown chick about to hatch and they munched it down, bone, feather and all.

extremelychocolateymilkroll · 07/01/2009 13:28

How do you cook okra properly? Dh loves it but I refuse to have it because I find it disgusting.

Jacksmama · 07/01/2009 18:03

here's how you cook okra:

you put it in a pot of boiling salted water until you can pierce it with a fork and it's tender

drain

wrap in a plastic bag

and bin it!

disgusting stuff

MollyCherry · 07/01/2009 21:09

When I was going out with my first serious BF, he invited me to dinner to meet his parents and he cooked:

Liver, boiled potatoes and peas.

I was so in love at the time I ate the lot, and have never touched liver or boiled pots since - it's been 16 years now!
