Any favourites, please?

I make gingerbread and carrot cake, but that is the extent of my inspiration!

Tommy- that sounds very yummy!

Can anyone suggest a nice simple recipe for chocolate traybake? Quantities for about an 8x11 inch tray. Simple chocolate icing would be good too!
I tried a conventional spongecake recipe with a bit of good quality cocoa but it was a bit heavy, dry and not chocolatey enough.

Elliot I have this recipe for a choc cake for an 18 x 28cm cake tin which is roughly 8 x 11".

140g butter
175g golden caster sugar
2 eggs
225g s/r wholemeal flour
50g cocoa powder
1/4 tspn bicarb of soda
250ml/9 fl.oz natural yogurt.

Beat butter & sugar in bowl until light and fluffy.
Add eggs a bit at a time.
Sieve cocoa, flour & bicarb into bowl then tip in any bran left in sieve.
Pour in natural yogurt.
Sir everthing to a smooth mixture & spoon into prepared tin.
Bake for 20-25 mins (180c/fan 160c/gas 4)until just firm.

You can melt 100g dark choc & mix with a couple of tablespoons of golden syrup and spread that over cake and it will set.
