God awful bag of frozen veg, what to do with it?

Asda delivered me the wrong bag of frozen veg. My OH took the delivery so didnt refuse it

I hate waste so these are going to be eaten, but I hate carrot rounds and find the texture of frozen broccoli and cauliflower horrible

So, what do I do with them to use them and enjoy them?

InBristol · 23/09/2026 20:39

As above

Soup

CopiedMyBlottingBook · 23/09/2026 20:56

Keep it to use as an ice pack in the event of injury.

bababamama · 23/09/2026 20:56

Roast them

likelysuspect · 23/09/2026 20:58

I did think of soup but was hoping for something more interesting, not that Ive got anything against soup, I make some nice ones.

I didnt think of roasting frozen veg, I could give that a try.

chop, roast, put in cottage pie. Or risotto.

Thisusernameisalwaysavailable · 23/09/2026 21:03

If it's carrots, broccoli and cauliflower.... I guess could try and stir-fry it?

lambfillet · 23/09/2026 21:17

I’ve roasted frozen veg. Season well, crush a bit of garlic into it, a few glugs of olive oil, and your oven as hot as possible. Keep looking at it, stir, it will give off loads of water but that will evaporate. It’s will be nice, just don’t take it out too soon. It needs to be not wet, and browned up.

Whizz some up in the food processor and throw into spaghetti bol type recipes.

ItsAlwaysTwins · 23/09/2026 21:23

Use for a mirepoix veg trivet underneath your next roast. Then stick blend into the gravy.

Theunamedcat · 23/09/2026 21:25

If your genuinely not wanting to use it put it on olio let someone else have it ive given away tons of food on there

PickAChew · 23/09/2026 21:26

Drown it in lots of gravy. Makes it far more tolerable.

ByLilacMember · 23/09/2026 21:29

A mixed veg curry. I'd add onion, ginger, garlic, the spices, can of chopped tomatoes and diced potatoes

Happytaytos · 23/09/2026 21:30

Soup. Especially blended soup.

WherestheTrombolese · 23/09/2026 21:36

Nigella’s broccoli and Stilton soup for the broccoli

Disguise frozen cauliflower in with fresh in a cauliflower cheese

Then as pp said use the carrots in a gravy base.

Macaroni cheese, cook the veg with the pasta, toss well in colander before adding bechamel and cheese on top then bake. Always comes up fine and kids love it!

FusionChefGeoff · 23/09/2026 21:47

Shepherds pie definitely

fridgefullofplums · 23/09/2026 21:48

Samosas?

workissues2026 · 24/09/2026 18:04

Brocolli and cauliflower cheese. Add it to macaroni? Maybe cook it and chop into smaller pieces.
