I want to expand my soup repertoire in 2026. I'm very much a throw whatever veg I have in and blitz type of soup cook. It works, and I always have some in the freezer but I'm looking to advance on that.

What are your favourite soup recipes?

I could eat soup every day and never get bored. Some of my favourites have already been mentioned (the Turkish lentil is amazing!).

We had Avgolemono tonight (Greek lemon chicken and rice) delicious.
Other favourites are :
Loaded baked potato
Chicken tortilla
Harira
Scotch broth
Sweetcorn chowder
Nana's magic soup (someone on Mumsnet recommended this year's ago and it's been a favourite since)
Ribollita
Hungarian mushroom soup
Green goddess soup

I make lots of soup as dieting. My go to soup is frozen chopped casserole veg from Asha as a good base, onion, garlic, chicken, stock, splash of white wine, low calorie coconut milk and sometimes chilli flakes. Blitz in soup maker.
sometimes I add sweetcorn from a tin after cooked so it’s more filling

I made a lovely marrowfat pea and veg soup last night. We ate it with cheese and crackers. Such a cosy, tasty meal.

Have a look on YouTube for 'Weary wolf adventures' he does a 'soup of the week'.

Propper old fashioned pea and ham soup. I use a large slow cooker. Soak dried peas over night. In the morning rinse and add to the slow cooker, throw in a ham shank or similar.

After a few hours you can cut the fat off the shank and discard it. The ham should start to break up but you can take it out, slice and put back. The longer it cooks the better, I have been known to put the sc on low over 24 hours.
